Thanks so much for the quick response, it was certainly helpful – even if it is technically bad news. Luckily, this pedal is going to be used exclusively in a studio setting for now, so I can totally work around the problem. Meantime, I’ll keep my eyes open for a later model, which I’ll use for shows. In the past I’ve recorded and toured extensively with the Wiggler as my main trem pedal and it’s absolutely amazing, no doubt it’ll always be in my set-up. The Pulsar is obviously very different, especially with all the variable shape options, which rules.
woodrowMemberIs midi-classics.com a trustworthy site? Anyone know?
woodrowMemberI have had both for many years and let me assure you they couldn’t be more different. The English Muff’n is arguably the best overdrive unit ever made (easily number one, IMO). Hot Tubes is amazing as well – it can best be described as a flexible Big Muff… and I say this only because it’s definitely in that particular family of distortion. They are both indispensible tools and I couldn’t imagine playing/recording without them.
woodrowMemberThank you so much for the response, which was very helpful and informative. I didn’t know the original POG was digital – is that documented somewhere? Well, anyway… I sure hope I can find one of the older Q-Tron models, because these XO just aren’t getting such great reviews. I’m sure I’ll try it myself anyway, as there’s nothing more honest than one’s own ears. I already own a Tube Zipper, which I love, I just feel like the Q-Tron must have a sharper, more angular sound to it. Maybe I’m wrong, who knows.
