I’d love to try another unit, but I don’t want to mess the store about by having them order another if the sound I’m hearing is normal. I feel bad having to return it.
It’s a shame, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
Withnail21MemberI was not a fan of the expression pedal either. I ended up chasing it around the floor too, and ‘always up’ is definitely a problem. I gave up on the expression pedal after a day and a half. Tried the preset load, but the sound is still not right to my ears. Way too metallic and robotic voicing. It’s a shame because it could potentially be a fantastic pedal.
Each time I go back and give it another try, I’m hopeful it’ll grow on me. Unfortunately, I can’t get past the unnatural sound. I’m returning it tomorrow
Withnail21MemberUnfortunately, I did. The higher the frequency, the worse it is. I really love the cello sound, but the underlying ‘out of tune robotic sound’ is ruining it for me. I’d love to test is against another pedal to see if it is defective, but the shop I bought this from had to special order it in, so that’s not an option.
The other thing I notice is the huge spikes in volume from time to time in the organ modes. You need to run it through a limiter to tame it. Again, I’m not sure if this is normal.
Did yours come with the EHX expression pedal?
Withnail21MemberYou don’t need any other pedals to replicate the B3 organ. If you want the ‘B3 into a Leslie speaker’ sound you could use a flanger, but a far better option is the Neo Ventilator; it’s a very convincing sound, and offers the ability to ramp the swirling speaker up and down like the real thing.
The foot controller has a few ‘built-in’ presets installed. I found them replicated throughout (ie the sound found on setting 25 is same at 35, 45, 55 etc.).
Withnail21MemberYes it does.
Withnail21MemberChasing it around the floor isn’t much fun either. Bloody thing slides all over the place.
