I think Russian Muff look best when they appear to have gone through a war :)

If you repaint, sand the case down and put some primer on it before you paint. It does not appear the St. Petersburg factory primed at all.

Hi thank you so much for all your info,
is there any chance you moght know the Color code or Color name for the Russian Big Muff Paint?

I would love to repain the outercase in mine as it’s completely wrecked, but I don’t seem to find a similar kind of Green.

It’s a Tall font green Big Muff

    Thank you so much

Some switches are just prone to building up static electricity which discharges (making a loud pop) when toggled.

    No they aren’t,
there’s no static electricity build up in switches, what you have is DC offset

“there is no static accumulation on the switch since the metal plunger and threaded body are in close contact with the plastic parts. Any charge that tries to form on the switch is quickly drained off because the metal body of the switch is grounded to the enclosure. Not only that, but most switch configurations have a ground wire on one of the lugs that further serves as a path for static to be leaked away. “
