The only polyphonic pitch shifter ever made. It was prohibitively expensive too.
Well, julian, that really sounds ñ¼ber weird! Beyond attractive, I would say. Really more like an electronic washing machine-type effect.
If I remember, it was possible to create S&H arpeggio effects with the EHX Minisynthesizer from 1980.
I agree that any arpeggiator brought out today should be digital.WatsonWoodMemberI would also suggest a wah pedal, such as the EHX Crying Tone. Properly adjusted the treadle will remain in any position you place it and work very effectively as a static filter. And the Crying Tone has the added feature of four filter sweep selections, from very low pass to very high. All in all a good solution.
WatsonWoodMemberHere is a quote from the Sovtek.com website:

WatsonWoodMemberYes, that is how I fixed the ones on my Crying Tones and Volume Pedals too.

I have a heavily-modded vintage Memory Man, with a Pan Pedal set up as controller and modulator, and with a lot of the same features as the Memory Boy, all mounted in a custom steel housing. That job was done for me in the late ’70s and it is interesting to see that the Memory Boy explores the same territory.

BRAVO, you’ve created another masterpiece!
It is a present and future classic.
Sounds great. Where did you get it? From a store or on the net?

Great pedals, great sounds, a great re-editon if it were to come about.
WatsonWoodMemberHow about calling it THE FREQUENCY EXTRAPOLATOR?
WatsonWoodMemberSounds really cool and I can imagine the great sounds coming when hooked up with the Metal Muff. Great pedal!

Great pedals, great sounds, and it would be a great re-issue!
WatsonWoodMember…and you can buy an old tape recorder. Passing the sound through it will give you that “aged” sound, no problem. Or even buy an old record player and put the signal through that. So many possibilities, though none better than buying an old Copicat.
WatsonWoodMemberYes, and the EHX speakers would make the Freedom amps sound really special!
WatsonWoodMemberYes, I will do definitely do that. Thanks. And I remember that I have had the SMMH on for periods of up to three and a half days non-stop recently. This is due to keeping a specific loop which we were rehearsing with every day. Since I could not turn the SMMH off (the loop would disappear) I decided to leave the machine on. Maybe not too good.
This is why I will be acquiring a 2880 just as soon as possible!WatsonWoodMemberI agree, since after writing my cry for help I drew a deep breath and plugged the SMMH back in, leaving it for about twenty minutes, then hooked it up to the amp, then the guitar. A couple of gentle stomps and it was up and running again.
Therefore, julian, I think you are right. It works right now, but one day, sooner or later, I will have to get it checked out, or look inside myself to see if it is a faulty solder point or so.
Anyway, thanks for the response!WatsonWoodMemberYes, that sounds a really good mod.
WatsonWoodMemberYes, julian, bring back the Freedom Amps, one for guitar, one for bass, and one for vocals. Then one can set up a Freedom Band, with drums, bass, two guitars, sax and vocals….all nice and loud and punchy and all running on batteries! Music on the street, music in the park, music on the beach, in the subway..
