Ah-ha! I have a Boss DD-3 Delay and will certainly check that out once the HS is in my possession.

It sounds like another candidate for the CT rocker pedal series!

Many thanks for your review Fender&EHX4ever;, as well as the sound clip(s). Just great!

I am still waiting to receive the Holy Stain I originally ordered many months ago. The EHX distributor here in Germany certainly does not seem too interested in selling EHX products in real music stores. (enough said).

I reckon this pedal is a must for me since it seems to have the typical EHX quirkiness and character, and I re-re-ordered it with money down some weeks ago…..ETA was the end of September…today is the 1st of October…Holy Stain?..no comment.

So I am really looking forward to the HS experience, especially after all these fascinating posts. Thanks everyone.

Yes, the Crying Tone will sound very good with bass, preferably either a Gibson Les Paul bass, or a string bass with a Shadow pick-up, on the low pass frequency selector position, or with a Fender Jazz bass on the mid-low pass frequency selector position. Add a Muff in the loop and the mid-high and high sweep selector positions can produce great harmonics, especially with a Rickenbacker or a Fender Precision bass.

Not bad, sounds like heavy Bowie. Early Sisters of Mercy?

    Good atmospheric performance.

I think the diecast switch was a great move. The price of the Memory Boy relative to similar effects on the market is impressively reasonable. And now we can clearly see how prices can differ from one country to another in Europe. In France, for example, the super pas cher (super cheap) price is 97 Euro, much higher than the best UK price which works out at about 63 Euro at the present exchange rate.

Thanks for the link! The Seymour Duncan Deja Vu is indeed a very impressive bit of work. I love the digital/analog mix and the fading effect option. All in all a must have echo/delay. And the modulation section gives some very fine sounds too. Good one.

Well, folks, I do not have a degree in tap dancing, however I do have many years on-the-job training in the art of playing an Electravibe with dampening pedal (right foot) at the same time as stomping and wah-ing on up to 18 effect pedals n a double-linked effect chain (left foot)…and yes, I was known to adopt some fairly silly positions when doing so.

Here is a wonderful beer for drinking on a hot, sultry summer day in the big city.

2.make loop a stop/start switch instead. i dont know who else likes having to hold down the switch to record, on other loopers i love running off to other instruments and pedals in sound-on-sound looping which you cant do. plus its harder to get the end of the loop in time when you have to release it to stop a dub.

Yes, stomp down and release up is extremely awkward and unnatural however electronically correct it may be. It often has me off balance, especially when using the Crying Tone at the same time with my other foot.

Here is the No Eye Deer beer label…and it tastes pretty much the way the deer looks! Great fun to drink, but takes a couple of pints to get used to.
