I’m pretty impressed. I already checked one out in a guitar shop over here and was seriously surprised at the efficiency of the unit. And this demo comes up trumps.
One suggestion I have, if possible, is to introduce a signal blend pot so us cranky guitar harmonics players don’t worry about loss. You could call it the Psy Pot.WatsonWoodMemberAs long as the LEDs are telling me roughly where the sound is coming from I don’t mind too much about paint jobs, just the sound!
WatsonWoodMemberHow about planning an Earth Day Open Air Festival out in a beautiful sun-drenched location with the bands and the PA powered by solar energy? Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Virginia Beach….any suggestions?

I like changing around pedal loops and experimenting with different pedal sequences which can give awe-inspiring results with EHX. Building a pedal board which enables such versatility is more than complicated.
Boss pedals are certainly OK and I have used them in the past however for me they lack that golden touch of inspirational madness that all EHX pedals offer. The non-EHX pedal I use is a Maestro Oberheim Phaser, otherwise I sometimes use rack-mounted Lexicons.WatsonWoodMemberQuote:coincidently i saw a DRM-16 on my local classifieds for only 50 euro yesterday – it was gone within minutes. i thought about taking it but it doesn’t seem very useful to me.an XO drum machine could be cool. a hazarai type thing where you can warp the rhythms and stuff.
Well, Night Raven, the DRM 16 is useful to plug in and get instant groove! Just plugged mine in yesterday to give it a spin after several years somnolence. Amazing how good it is to sit down and jam out songs and riffs. It has grand funk beats and roots reggae. I bought mine in Paris, France, as an import when it was first released for 1.250 French Francs so 50 Euro was a pretty good deal!
WatsonWoodMemberHere’s a photo of my Crying Tone / Volume Pedal family. (Posted on Pan Pedal as well). Posted here because I picked up one of the Volume Pedals, the Crying Tone and one of the Muff Fuzz Crying Tones over the last months on eBay. A good example of what is available out there at the moment.(The others I bought at the time of issue and used (still use) when playing gigs and in the studio)
WatsonWoodMemberFoot controllable Sample & Hold. Blended Looper. Unlimited opportunities to integrate effects with foot control already ….. at your feet…..without having to add another cable, lead or pedal.
And here is a photo of my Crying Tone / Volume Pedal family. The Pan Pedal is still in the cellar.
WatsonWoodMemberYes, as in Sample & Hold. Should be possible.
WatsonWoodMemberOK, thanks guys. I will begin my search tomorrow.
WatsonWoodMemberQuote:You missed one in your poll: expression jack for delay time :metal:Yes, I vote on that one too.
WatsonWoodMemberIs it possible to buy any of the magic SAD1024 delay ICs today?
WatsonWoodMemberExcellent thought. There are a lot of effects and useful devices which could be mounted in these types of rocker pedals…if the series gets started again!
WatsonWoodMemberThank-you! I did once catch a glimpse of the Multiplexer version in Paris. When I returned to the music store two days later to try it out, it had already gone. I have never seen one since then. At the moment I have two Volume pedals, two Crying Tones (one each of the versions I know), two Muff Fuzz Crying Tones and a Hotfoot ( as I said before…that is somewhere in the cellar).
I also now remember the Queen Triggered Wah. Great gear! I saw it, tried it, earned some money, came back to buy it a week later……too late, gone! Now the list is as follows:-
1) Crying Tone
2) Volume Pedal
3) Muff Fuzz Crying Tone
4) Talking Pedal
5) Hotfoot
6) Bad Stone Treadle
7) Octave Multiplexer Treadle
Queen Triggered Wah
9) Pan Pedal(I have a feeling there might be another one….)
So now the list has reached nine different pedals with the same housing and treadle systems. The economics of a series re-issue look good.
WatsonWoodMemberThanks, Ron. Of course, the Hotfoot. So now the list reads as follows:
1) Crying Tone
2) Volume Pedal
3) Muff Fuzz Crying Tone
4) Talking Pedal
5) Hotfoot
6) Pan PedalAll share the same housing and treadle. Does a series of re-issues of these pedals make economic, and musical, sense? I certainly think so.
