What function(s) does the treadle control on the Talking Pedal?
WatsonWoodMemberYes, an official EHX products “legacy” page would be great!
WatsonWoodMemberI notice that there is one What’s a Crying Tone answer on the poll. So here is a quote from one of the Forum’s CT topic posts:
“Here’s a photo of my Crying Tone / Volume Pedal family. (Posted on Pan Pedal as well). Posted here because I picked up one of the Volume Pedals, the Crying Tone and one of the Muff Fuzz Crying Tones over the last months on eBay. A good example of what is available out there at the moment.(The others I bought at the time of issue and used (still use) when playing gigs and in the studio)”
As some stalwart EHX forum members have pointed out, there were other pedals in this format, for example, the Pan Pedal, the Hotfoot, the Bad Stone Phaser, the Octave Multiplexer, the Queen Triggered Wah…..and the CT housing would indeed be really practical for a whole range of effect pedals, with volume/modulation etc able to be controlled directly by use of the treadle.

WatsonWoodMember..and a Nano Freezer could be called the Ice Cube, with the Freezer being an XO and the Freezer Plus being a CT.
WatsonWoodMemberBelow is the picture of the Memory Boy from the Dolphin UK website. It does not look much better than the picture above. It certainly does not look like an official EHX photo.
…in fact, on comparison, it looks like a copy of the picture above!!
WatsonWoodMemberQuote:Oh see now we just have two completely different ideas running. I’d love to see both happen. The Freezer

The Drone Boner
Well, ghost, no Drone Boner? I noticed your  , so maybe the Drone is better? Anyway, I’m sure you have some great names in mind and look forward to hearing them.
WatsonWoodMemberQuote:I like blueI have been wondering about my dislike for blue LEDs, Julian. It does not seem logical. Maybe it has something to do with my eyes and the fact that I once had a close call with two powerfull stage projectors, with light blue filters on them, which made me blind for a couple of minutes and left me with a few dark specks in each eye. No big deal but it could be that explains my aversion. I suppose I think they are going to jump up at me!
One thing is certain. LEDs are useful and, as long as their use does not put too much of a load on the circuit, should be integrated as much as possible to make pedals user-friendly.WatsonWoodMemberYes, the value aspect has taken on importance nowadays for vintage EHX pedals, as it has for vintage guitars, but even today I still mod my gear, including ny Electravibe and guitars, whenever I feel it will help with the sound and/or performance I am looking for. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but the music aspect always takes priority.
….colour-wise I like red, green and amber LEDs. I also find blue LEDs turn me off (!) for some reason, though I can’t imagine why.WatsonWoodMemberRight, absolutely. I get your point. So now we have the Drone Boner to contend with as well!
WatsonWoodMemberI have had two Boss Delays, one with Hold function and the other with Pitch Shifter and also the Boss Stereo Phaser, as well as a Boss Volume Pedal and a Boss Stereo Volume Pedal and Modulator. I was never honestly happy with the sound either, and never really felt like using them live, or in the studio for that matter. Not enough presence, not enough dynamics and too much hiss. They always seemed to take some of the original signal away for which I had to compensate on EQ down the line. I don’t use them any more.
WatsonWoodMemberHmmh! So a Freezer couldn’t do a Drone?
WatsonWoodMemberSoory, guys, I arrived late on this one. Just to say, Dan Miller demos are way the best IMO. A big :thumb: for Dan.
WatsonWoodMemberOver here in Germany and France the Riddle and Enigma remain true to name…mysterious. Not seen any yet!
WatsonWoodMemberWhich amp set-up does he use?
