The LPB-1 Nano was an impulse buy for me, and I use it very often. I also bought it cause the price and because I simply just wanted a pedal to take home. I usually have it cranked, which sounds fat and dirty. At about half way it gives the obvious boost and some dirt, which is also very nice. It also works great to bring your Fuzz/Distortion/Overdrive pedals over the top or to give them an extra push. It does nothing over the top by itself, but I’ve found it really useful. I’ve never had my hands on any of the vintage ones though, but I’m assuming you were asking about the Nano version. Anyway, I give the LPB-1 Nano several thumbs up.

Truth. I’ve heard the noise is a bother, but I usually don’t care that much about noise anyway…

vulturepianoMemberHey Fender&EHX4ever;, what kind of speakers do you have in your Fender amps (I’m assuming you use Fender amps)? Because I have two old ones and my EHX pedals, especially my English Muff’n, tore my old cts speakers apart. So I’m wondering, being I have to replace two speakers in my Super Six, and four in my Bassman Ten.
vulturepianoMemberi prefer the power jacks and the smaller enclosures on the xo series. also, i do usually enjoy tb haha. however, the casings looked way cooler. for example; i love the germanium od, however imo, the graphics are pretty lame. i feel the graphics, or whatever you’d call them, also add to the “mojo”. pretty much every one of the vintage ehx pedals’ graphics had this unique, classic, yet simple style. idk, maybe it’s just me, but i do care about what the top of a pedal looks like haha. although, i’ll still buy a pedal even if the top of it looks silly to me.
vulturepianoMemberthe dem sounds incredible.
vulturepianoMemberjust used my friends to record the other day. loved it. i am now too… searching.
vulturepianoMemberHaha, I never really hear too much about hockey when in the city. However, I don’t go around looking for it haha. There are a lot of great venues, and a lot of great bands come through pretty often. But I’m sure it’s the same in Pittsburgh. That’s too bad your band is on hiatus though.
vulturepianoMemberBy the way, I’m digging your band. Surf City Narlins is a cool track… sorta reminds me of some Drive Like Jehu. Ever come by Philly?
vulturepianoMemberThose are very good points. I’m thinking I wasn’t really looking for something that subtle, but something that wasn’t the typical ef. In that case, I’ll go for Bassballs because I sold my Worm due to that I felt all it had to offer was very subtle. Plus, the Bassballs seems like I’ll spend hours playing with it, and I usually don’t hate anything considered over-the-top, which seems to be the reason I enjoy EHX so much. Your insight has been appriciated. Thanks!
vulturepianoMembersadly, no ha. i have two guitar center’s near me and neither of them really carry too much ehx at all. there are a few shops around too, but none of them have any ehx either. i’ve watched all the videos on youtube of each, and still can’t really decide. the doctor q seems a bit more subtle and usable, however the bassballs seems a lot more interesting and fun. so i’m really stuck, haha.

vulturepianoMemberQuote:I love the pedal,
was quite a grower for me too,
there’s a crazy sound like a ghost coming out of a toothpaste tube on some of the settings..
at least that’s the only way I can describe it.your description makes me want to buy the doctor q immediately. i think i shall.
vulturepianoMembera modest flerb setting before a tile reverb sounds very nice.
