    So, this is my first pedal mod EVER so just to be clear here:

    I think my initial confusion is just coming from not being entirely clear on how a dpdt switch breaks up a circuit.

    I want to do the tone bypass mod on my Russian muff. I know I run a lead from one leg of those two components (a resistor and capacitor, I forget exactly which ones right not) together but then……

    Could I put the combined lead onto, say, the first lug of the dpdt switch? If that were the case, what other lugs would then be used to reground the two components and cause the tone circuit to function normally?

    Also, how is it that these two components are bypassed by being ungrounded if they are still connected to the PCB? Do you clip a leg?

    Pardon my ignorance on all this. I haven’t even bought a soldering iron yet.
