I thought the Tupe Mic pre had an XLR out, and in. I could be wrong. I bet an acoustic would sound lovely thru one tho’.

TheGhostMachinaMemberI experienced a similar thing as you, C.J. Although not always noise.. My DMB would “brown out”, making the repeats even dirtier then normal. It sounds nix for some things, but not all the time. And I couldn’t use the mid to high ‘Q’ on my POG2, as that def made ‘white noise’.

TheGhostMachinaMemberThank you, nightraven. Specs my say 1000mA is enough. But in practice my POG2, HOG, and DMB needed more. Especially when all on at the same time.

TheGhostMachinaMemberWhat is the “box” and what are your 4 EHX pedals? Depending on the mA required by your pedals, there may not be enough juice.
I use a DC Brick to power a BMPwTW, LPB-1, Stereo Pulsar, and Nano Dr. Q. But I need to power my POG2, DMB, and HOG independently because they require more mA to function properly.

TheGhostMachinaMemberThank you Mr. Grim! I haven’t heard the Fatman before, I’ll have to check it out. And it’s interesting you should mention the BassBalls.. There happens to be one here in stock (old style to!) that I’m thinking of picking up. That’ll prob hold me till the Machine comes out, then I can make my real decision;)
Thanks again,

TheGhostMachinaMemberYup, as EH Man said, you’re good with the 1Spot.

TheGhostMachinaMemberThank you Bill! I’m tracking guitars (and things played on guitar that don’t sound like guitar) this week for the first Ghost Machina album.. This is perfect timing:)

Some players (myself included) like to use it to drive our signal a lil hotter, even when the DMM is bypassed. This why I don’t like the true bypass on the newer XO version.
You could always put it in an effects loop (Boss Line Selector, or Radial Big Shot EFX), leave the unit on and use the fx loop to switch it in and out of your signal. This way you can also use a LPB-1 in the same loop to bring your delayed signal more in line with your dry signal.
I don’t know much about finding the date of the unit. The EH Man (on this forum) is usually pretty helpful in that regard.
Hope that helps,

TheGhostMachinaMemberOr some sort of effects loop pedal. Check out the Radial Big Shot EFX, or Boss Line Selector.

TheGhostMachinaMemberI use the VoiceBox live for almost a year now. I feed it a soft synth from my laptop (Ableton). What I do is carefully edit the synth parts so it’s only sending signal to the VB when I’m supposed to be singing. This eliminates the ‘noise’ when I’m not singing. No communication with FOH required. Also, I use in ears, so lower stage volume. And I run the mic at low volume as well.

I have also longed for a Riddle, but now I think I’m gonna hold out for the Talking Machine. But I’m really looking forward to the Killswitch.. Good job, EHX.. Keep up the good work!

TheGhostMachinaMemberTurn the reverb knob (right next to blend) up for reerb on just your dry (bypassed) signal. The other reverb knob is for the effect signal. Try putting the voicebox into a DI before the mixer. The voicebox is pretty hot, so you can use the DI to pad it down.
Hope that helps

TheGhostMachinaMemberNo kidding about the switch in toe down position. I didn’t use a wah fer years because of the horrible resonance when engaged. Now I run it in an effects loop of my voodoo lab pedal switcher, so like Melx said, I can turn it on in any position I like. And I too use mine more as a filter. Hey Melx, what kinda wah do you use? I’m always looking for interesting filter type ideas!
