Fair enough. Looks like the old Mistresses and other various modulation pedals are bound to die out one day
Thanks for the insight!

TheFloydGiverMemberThank you very much! Now I can hopefully bring my mistress to a tech!
TheFloydGiverMemberOk, thanks for clearing that up!
TheFloydGiverMemberQuote:I have all true bypass pedals now. thats mostly just for uniformity sake. The only issue I have run into is when I have some TB and some non TB mixed together there can be some weird results sometimes. like volume drops or weird white noise/hum. modern buffer bypass is so good nowadays theres not much reason to choose it over true bypass in general. the only time buffered bypass was bad was in vintage pedals like the original clide wah wahs and stuff with the imfamous “tone suck”. Most of that is in peoples minds anyway. Thats also the way Gilmour made his famous seagul sounds on echoes. So really in the end just exparament and see what you get.Actually Gilmour reversed the inputs and the outputs through the wah wah and just fiddled with the tone knob
TheFloydGiverMemberWow this got off topic really really fast … isn’t this supposed to be about pedals and not english and accents??????

If you plug the mistress into an adapter will it sound more juicier and whooshier than ever???
TheFloydGiverMemberQuote:Hi! I’ve had a 70s Electric Mistress that i bought a few months ago off ebay which sounds great,BUT…
it seems to have become progressively prone to distorting the input signal. I had to tinker with the preset pots inside because the way the guy had it before the colour knob wasn’t doing anything at all. The base of the pedal was also missing when i got it so could the problem be that it’s getting dusty and needs a clean or do you reckon it’s to do with the preset pot settings?
Thanks
Well with mine that happened but all it was was the batteries were dying so that might be it and also don’t turn the color all the way up with a distortion because this pedal is very trebley….. or however you spell it.
TheFloydGiverMemberQuote:The civil war ones where out first, then came the green ones. They kept the civil war PCB layout and used it for the Green ones but changed the value of two caps.Thats most likely right but im more of a modulation fan so I pay more attention to that anyways so whatever……
TheFloydGiverMemberQuote:Quote:The so called “civil war” muffs are almost identical to the green russians.hang on… I thought the green ones were based on the civil war? i bought mine loooong before the greens hit stores.
Well actually maybe they designed the green board first but needed to perfect it so they released the “civil war” version but it’s my highly unlikely opinion.(actually just improvised but whatever.)
TheFloydGiverMemberDavid Gilmour is bringing/brought EHX A whole new meaning and makes them sound terrific!!! (with very few pedals other than many more muffs!) http://www.gilmourish.com/wp-content/images/bell_pedals2.jpg , http://www.gilmourish.com/wp-content/images/animalsboard_close.jpg
