Give him a disc with one of your loops, and name it “A Father’s Love” or something corny. My son made a loop on his Super Duper Music Looper program to give me and I was quite enamored. He drew a picture of me too. He’s five so he loves his dad, unlike you .
Raphaelle, as a bass player, you should get a Q-Tron. Watch the links for the Q-Tron+, which I use https://www.ehx.com/products/q-tron-plus. Most of these demos are with guitars but you’ll get the idea. It is usually associated with funk but that’s not how I use it (although I do love funk).
The warranty card is important I suppose but if you have your receipt that will be sufficient for warranty purposes. At least that’s been my experience.
It controls the coarse knob in ring mod mode (and upper/lower band). For me the exp pedal is totally necessary but I agree that you should try it out first. If you only need the RT for ring mod, you may prefer the Frequency Analyzer. Although even without the exp pedal, tuning the RT to an incoming pitch by foot is pretty awesome.
YES! I was trying to figure out who it was. They abso-fucking-lutely got this from you, they must have. Its documented. Give that ghost a pedal! And this ghost too. Me wanty.
I wanna take the Freeze out behind the middle school and get it pregnant. I just read the manual and it does the things I use my Boss DD5 for yet with all the features I wish it had.
Peavey 5150 head with a Marshall 800 4×12 cab. For bass I have a Sunn concert bass head with Marshall Dynamic Bass System 2×12 and 2×10 stack. The Sunn head is sadly on the fritz and I have no idea whom to bring it to for repair. I think I burned it out by stupidly recording direct from the line-out without plugging in a speaker to bear the load.
I love it alot. Too bad it already went crazy on me. I just returned it to where I bought it and am waiting for the replacement.
But as far as the good, I have it after one looper (Boss) and before another (SMMH). I’m getting all kinds of good use like that, pitch-shifting the loop, ring modding the loop. Then I control it with a Kaossilator in the mod input. I just record a loop of a simple melody and then play guitar and it flanges and swerves all over the place. A great tool
I actually did a review of the GF on this site but it was deleted along with your original account and mine. It was a good review, I liked it, but I ended up getting rid of it. I was using it mostly as an EQ for my big muff, which sounded awesome, just not what I needed at the time, I wanted a wilder fuzz rather than a straight up distortion. EQ after a big muff though…pretty great.
I have mine after my Boss DD5 delay and before my Hazarai. I use the DD5’s 2 second sample/hold to make a short loop then shift it to a different key with the ring thing. I can then loop a key change into the Hazarai. Been working for me in terms of arranging song structures and not just static loops.
Sadly I find that EHX pedals do not behave the same from product to product. I do love this pedal though. Looping the delayed sounds is a big deal.
I’m not sure what you mean here. Are both statements related or do you mean that you are the lucky person who has a SMM without the glitch/chopped off audio problem?
Well, I saw a thread about the SMMH having a gap on the loop. Since I own this pedal, I decided to enter the conversation. I opened by stating my position that I do not have the same problem with the pedal that others in this thread do have, specifically the gap between end/start of a loop. It was demonstrated by tweedsuitcase that he definitely has this gap as he played a sustained keyboard note and it dropped out. So I tried mine in a similar way and it faded into the start of the loop just fine, without that glitch. I thought it might be interesting to share my experience so people don’t think that this is necessarily what its supposed to do. It also changed my point of view that the people having this problem just have no rhythm . I mean, that still may be true, but clearly there is a glitch.
I segued into my next statement which alluded to my unfortunate experience that this, and other EHX products tend to differ in quality from one to the next. I own/have owned 13 EHX pedals and nearly half of them (six) had to be returned or replaced for quality issues, which is way more than the number of other pedals that have ever malfunctioned on me (zero). But that would be off-topic, so I brought it back around to the SMMH and summarized that regardless of some inconsistencies, the pedal’s great features, including the ability to loop sounds from delay modes, make it all worthwhile.
Either way, it’s no. I would love it if someone could do even an expression pedal mod but I haven’t found anyone who does it. There are no SD card slots or anything.
Sadly most of us don’t have the 2880 (jealous). Not too many EHX staff hang out on here recently, and hopefully other users simply aren’t having this problem, so if you don’t get an answer on here go to info@ehx.com.
