The EH ManModerator
Are you operating this on power supply or battery?
December 12, 2023 at 1:22 pm in reply to: What kind of foot pedal triggers work for Crash Pad and Super Space Drum? #207052The EH ManModeratorFrom the Crash Pad manual: This 1⁄4” jack is the input for an external trigger. The Crash
Pad triggers on positive going pulses or clock signals ranging from 3V to 15V or
+/- 3V to +/-8V. Nearly all types of gate, clock and trigger signals that fall within
this voltage range will trigger the Crash Pad. Some examples of acceptable
trigger signals include electronic drum trigger pads, an electronic pulse (as
produced by the EHX Clockworks), a clock generator (as produced by the EHX 8
Step), gate signals from synthesizers such as V-Trigger, or sync signals from
drum machines. The input impedance is 2Mohms.Back in the 1980s there was an External Trigger box which was simply a piezo transducer. It worked fine on all the drum units back then. I’d get some piezo discs and try them out. They’re easily mounted to just about anything.
The EH ManModeratorDid you used a stereo (TRS) cable to connect the footswitch to the pedal?
The EH ManModeratorThe EH ManModeratorFor starters, the US supply is only rated for 120v.
The EH ManModeratorI would try to find an adapter that’s already set up for your country’s voltage. The HOG requires a 9VDC/500mA adapter and the model # for the original European adapter is EU9LDC-500.
The EH ManModeratorAre you connecting the footswitch with a standard guitar cable?

The EH ManModeratorI really hate that power supply design. I usually disconnect it and install a small PCB with a variable voltage regulator set for 13v.
The EH ManModeratorThere’s a transistor on the power supply output that probably needs changed as well.

The EH ManModeratorSince you say it doesn’t match up with any resources you’ve found, you should post some pics of what you have and we can go from there. It’s not terribly difficult and you can use the original switch if you can sacrifice the LED.
The EH ManModeratorEasy fix!
The EH ManModeratorIf it quit and started working again it may just need a solder touch-up, not a replacement.
The EH ManModeratorThis is not the place to post this issue. You should start a new thread.
