The upper point is where the blue wire goes. That’s the effect input.
The lower point is ground and the black wire goes there. The EH ManModeratorSounds like a bad pot to me.
The EH ManModeratorNothing comes in a wooden box anymore. They’ve all gone to cardboard, which is actually made of wood so I guess in a way they still do. Just not in an actual wooden board box.
The EH ManModeratorYes, that’s an original. SAD1024 delay IC is what makes it so great.
The EH ManModeratorQuote:Hi,I live in europe and would need an adapter aswell..
Firstly, i’ve read this topic and it seems that you guys are speaking about a “dc” adapter.. but the top of my vintage mistress clearly reads “AC” ..
What’s up with that?
tip positive, 18 volts, that’s all i know,.. so would i have to choose ac or dc?
Cheers,
Anthony
It’s DC.

Thanks. Unfortunately the previous owner did a rewire on the controls and I’ve been unable to get a wiring diagram anywhere to restore it. Mike at Eastwood doesn’t have one in his files. I also wish they had gone w/ the individual pickup switches instead of the Fender-style switch.

The EH ManModeratorQuote:I think my primary question now is what regulates the power to -15V which is what appears in the schematic? Is it the 2N6111?Thanks again.
Drawing looks fine now. The 2N6111 is used for regulation, but it’s not an actual regulator. The combination of parts connected to it forms what’s called a “series regulator” circuit. Let us know how it turns out.
The EH ManModeratorThe vintage 5-knob Deluxe Memory Man uses a positive ground power supply. You’ll need to reverse the red and green wires coming off the jack. The red wire goes to the LED and the green wire to the rectifier pin.

I take repairs on a case-by-case basis. I would take this one.
March 11, 2009 at 12:16 pm in reply to: Help needed with wiring Small Stone Issue J for True Bypass #94397The EH ManModeratorSmall Stone don’t take very well to true-bypass, at least the vintage units don’t.
The EH ManModeratorMost of it is pretty run of the mill stuff that’s worth less than $100 each. The rest are in the $100-250 bracket. The only thing that might be worth anything major is the gray Memory Man. One of those sold on ebay a year or so back for about $500. Looks like the slide switch is broken on it.
The EH ManModeratorQuote:I also got the Behringer Vintage Tube Monster (vs. my Hot Tubes). It is awesome as well with a wide variety of tones (has a 3 band eq, built in noise gate, and true bypass). I also did the Bitmo Mod to the VT999 and its pretty awesome, I will actually be selling my hot tubes now because it is just way to over the top for me.The VT999 is likely a clone of the 5-knob Tube Driver, not the Hot Tubes.
The EH ManModeratorQuote:Not to get all jingoistic, but one of the things I like most about EHX effects, aside from their ability to go over the top, is that most are made in NYC. There aren’t many products left that are manufactured in the USA, particularly products that are made as affordable as EHX. Sure you can buy the purported copycat made with lesser components by MUCH lesser paid people, but whenever possible I think it’s best to fund the innovator rather than the corner cutter.
My $.02Actually I believe they’re only assembled in the US.
