The EH ManModerator
Specs and info here: https://www.ehx.com/products/lpb-2ube
(2) 12AX7WB tubes. How often they need changed depends on your usage. If you’re using a lot you might want to change every 6 months or so. Normal use probably a year.
April 15, 2009 at 4:41 pm in reply to: need schematic for old 70’s black finger distortion free sustainer with metal op amp can and about 9 transisters. Does anyone have this? #95699The EH ManModeratorYou can get it here (registration required): http://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?p=30759
Last post on that page has a link to the PDF.The EH ManModeratorYep, definitely a 2nd version board in a 1st version box.
Schematic here: http://filters.muziq.be/files/schematics/eh_badstone.gif
The EH ManModeratorActually, it’s 12VAC, 1A (or 1000mA).
No ideas who’s the distributor there, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one.The EH ManModeratorQuote:Whats DEM??Deluxe Electric Mistress
The EH ManModeratorLots of vintage EH wahs out there. Why not just pick one up?
The EH ManModeratorDead giveaway that it’s a reissue: STEREO
And really, $100 is about right for a reissue (found the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Electro-Harmonix-Polychorus-chorus-flanger-effect-pedal_W0QQitemZ180342903664QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item180342903664&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:13|39:1|240:1318 ).
I remember I paid something like $350 for my vintage unit years ago.
The EH ManModeratorYou didn’t get a vintage unit but instead you have an early reissue. The early reissues of some EH pedals did have built-in AC power cords.
If it was sold to you as vintage, I’d ask for my money back or at least an adjustment.
The EH ManModeratorYour pedal is likely a transitional unit using the earlier chassis and the later circuit, which was 9V.
The earlier units used a dual power supply (+9 and -9) so there wasn’t an adapter option. If it’s using the old 1/8″ plug used on vintage units your adapter should be +9 with a positive tip. That might be your problem.
The EH ManModeratorIf I remember correctly that pedal requires an 18v supply. I can’t access my schematics at the moment so don’t do anything till you hear back.
Could you post some pics and pot codes? The EH ManModeratorI’ll check my parts tonight. I may have a replacement.
The EH ManModeratorThey’re pretty much the same circuit and sound. The Russian unit uses Russian parts so it’s a bit different, but not enough to worry about.
I have no preference on sound. The EH ManModeratorIt’s an SPDT slide switch. The holes are probably tapped for 4-40 screws. What’s broken on it? If it’s the tip you can often open the switch up and replace it.
The EH ManModeratorIt’s just a Russian Small Stone. They were made up till a few years ago. $40 is reasonable. Basically the same circuit as the US reissues.
The EH ManModeratorSince you have 2, you might be able to compare the wiring and see if something’s missing. I’d check the Chorus/Vibrato switch wiring and see if it’s still in one piece. Sometimes they come apart just enough to cause problems. You might also check where the Chorus/Vibrato pot solders to the board.
