    I would try:

Soul Preacher > lbm > nanoclone > delay > cathedral

Most chains go: compresion > dirt > modulation > time based effects (delay/reverb) but there are no rules. One of the advantages over multi effects is the ability to swap positions to create different sounds.

You could try your microsynth in a few places, depending on what you want. I would probably try it between the compressor and the muff first.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Paulocaster

    I kind of do both.

My chain goes Guitar >> Wah >> Polytune >> Germanium OD >> LPB-1 >> Big Muff >> Electric Mistress >> Pulsar >> SMMH >> Amp

Then, I have a Switchblade ‘between’ the LPB-1 and the Muff (my amp has 2 channels + 2 inputs) so, I can bypass the 2nd half of my chain by hitting the Switchblade. I can also set each channel up on my amp differently and go instantly from clean (with effects) to dirty (with no effects) by hitting the switchblade (helps to prevent ‘tap dancing’ across my board mid-song!).

Also, I would say the LPB-1 does colour your sound a little (and can provide quite a lot of gain/overdrive if set high and run into a tube amp). I use it mainly as a second overdrive pedal rather than a pure clean boost.

    Hope this helps

im thinking its a definite yes that they will put out a new product. at least they will xo something. they always do. . .dont they?

im hoping for a new tremolo. i would buy it in a heartbeat.

have you guys seen the new tremvelope from pigtronix? really cool and definitely worth checking out. im just wondering if it would be considered stealing for ehx to put out a similar idea. hope not

The tremvelope looks pretty crazy, but if you’re sticking with EHX I can heartily recommend the Stereo Pulsar. I have never been that much of a tremolo fan, but I LOVE the Pulsar. It’s never leaving my board – I use it so much.

    Hi

There is no right or wrong way to chain effects, but dirt is generally best before delay and reverb, so I would go:

Guitar – muff – dl4 – cathedral – amp (as I’m pretty sure the Vox doesn’t have a dedicated effects loop)

Not sure about the freeze, it’s a time based effect so maybe try it between the dl4/cathedral. it’s best to experiment with different positions and see what works best for you.

    Hope this helps

    Good luck

I have the Peavey Ampkit too. I think it’s great, especially for quiet practice (I have two very young children!)

I think an EHX licensed ‘effects bundle’ for the Ampkit would be awesome! (There is already a Big Muff clone on there)

I also have the MOOG Filtatron.

Can I also recommend the NLog Synthesizer too. Very cool.

I also really like a little app called ‘easybeats’ – a very intuitive drum machine. Worth checking out.

I’ve been after a Tele (as a ‘2nd’ guitar) for a while now, and kind of decided on a mex 60’s classic, but seeing the blacktop has made me think.

In fact, the Strat with the 5 way switching might be perfect (and I didn’t even want a strat!)

Now I’m racked with indecision….. (in a good way)

It would be cheaper to use two ‘Muff Overdrives’

I believe the circuits are the same

As far as I’m aware, the Double Muff and the Muff Overdrive are reissues of the original Muff Fuzz

So, pairing two Muff Overdrives together should be the same as pairing two Double Muffs in single mode.

Now you’ve got me thinking about this………

I have a few stereo pedals, which I just run ‘in line’ and ignore the stereo inputs/outputs.

Could I have an ‘effects loop’ in between 2 stereo pedals?

For example – I have my Stereo Pulsar running directly into my Stereo Memory Man w Hazarai. Could I use the stereo ‘out’ on my Pulsar and the 2nd input on the SMMH to connect other pedals in between?

When I first got my Germanium OD I had the same problem. I tried daisy chaining it + I tried it with a couple of separate power supplies and it was so noisy it was unusable.

I had almost given up, when I happened to try another power supply (a cheap ‘non brand’ variable voltage one from an electrical store) and it worked PERFECTLY!

    No noise at all

I think it’s a case of just trying different options until you get one that the Germanium OD likes. (Daisychain is a bad idea).

If all else fails, go with MelX and stick with a battery.
