They have it on HC? I didn’t know that!! I guess I just don’t read forums in the same way.

I believe they have it… I don’t remember for sure, as I don’t use HC regularly, but it would be the little arrow icon to the left of the thread title.

“broken beyond repair” is a term used only by the incompetent. Real men can fix anything.

can you link me to a forum that has this feature so I can understand exactly what you are suggesting?

It may or may not be possible, but if I can see how it works I will make sure it is brought to the attention of Scott, who will then see if it’s possible and if seems a good/practical idea to add the feature to the forum.

Let’s see… Muse.mu boards, talkbass, harmony central, and ubuntu, which is pretty much every other forum I’ve ever used.

I seem to be in the minority of people who prefer function over form when it comes to small boxes that aren’t often very visible, but are often stepped upon.

I get emails about all the latest threads, you can set your account to notify you of this in the user control section.

I don’t want emails. I do want an easy way to pick up where I left off. This isn’t about coming up with workarounds; these are things which should be present in order to have a streamlined site that isn’t a headache to use.

OK, so here’s the solution I propose solution: EHX makes XO enclosures that are small and practical, and then the people who feel the need for a larger pedal can put their Muffs in old refrigerator boxes, and paint “Colossal Muff Pi” on it. Problem solved.

Rubbish to ye all. A Big Muff by any other enclosure would sound as sweet.

I’m a big EHX fan, but I’ve never been very attached to the oft-unnecessarily large case. I think the XO pedals are a great improvement.

A bit off-topic, but this reminded me that Line 6 has a programmable FX stompbox, and there are also a few others. One trait that all of them seem to share though is that they require some programming knowledge to be able to create FX. I would like to see something similar, but geared towards the less technologically-inclined, probably by being able to program stuff with some sort of GUI. Something a bit like NI Reaktor, but for programming FX, and then with a compatible stompbox/floor module/whatever.

Yes, but they’re still sorted from new to old on such a page, so you just look at the top…

Fair enough. My main point though was that there’s not a way to just be able to check at a glance if there are any new pedals.

Maybe you can solve this with a “new product” tag for blog posts about new products? Then you can have a page with all posts with this tag…

Only problem with that idea is, everything is a new product at some point. There needs to be a way to differentiate between what is new now, and what will be new in a year or twenty. Also, any such list would preferably link directly to the product page, rather than a blog entry about it.

Guitar Center is notoriously bad at having new stuff in stock

Oddly enough, musiciansfriend is much better, despite being owned by the same people.

Isn’t the main difference between the bass and guitar versions just that the bass version has EQ bands optimized to bass?

£139??? blimey that’s not bad… I think the Whammy will have to go on ebay!!

nah, no new gear really….although I did get a Nintendo DS with that Korg DS-10 analogue Synth/drum machine/squencer Cartridge which is lots of fun and was a very nice suprise….I can do some synthy stuff on my recordings with it. :)

so expect me to go even more spacerock with that and a voice box!!

Woah. My sister got a ds.

Might have to try that out ;)

Do it. I’ve got the DS-10, as well as a number of homebrew music apps for the ds. A lot of them are actually quite useful.
