    Tortoise:

A very interesting band… good songs, good musicians, and EH-friendly.

This is their latest record… “Beacons of Ancestorship” 100 % recommended!

Of course, their previous recs are equally impressive!

    a question… or a thought rather..

these films and albums aren’t the same length are they? do you just listen/watch until the album runs out?

in DSOTRainbow its well worth it to play the album again and again rally, becasue different parts and concepts synch the second and third time the album plays…

really? how much could it hurt to listen to the Dark Side of The Moon twice in a row??? :P

in reply to: Synchronicity of Movies w/ Albums #113143

2001/echoes is really good… Wish you were here with Its a wondefull life wasnt as impressive as DSOTRainbow but still pretty good…

next up on the list is again a bunch of classics Casablanka with Animals… lets see how that works!

in reply to: Where are you from?? #113129

hey very nice to know you all! i had a fealing that many of the members here were gonna be citizens of the U.S….

maybe after this thread is full of places from all around the world (wishfull thinking) we can make a map of sorts, with points or dots or something that correspond to each and everyone of us. i dont know, just brainstorming here…

    in reply to: BWOOOOOOOOOOMMM…. #112828

    hey chromanaut check this…

tune low…(C or B or A is always good)
turn up the monster tube amp (something that breaks up nicely… obviously SUNN amps are good, but also check a Fender Blackface Bassman)

let the feedback flow freely through-out your pick ups and cabinet(-s are preferable always, the more the merrier)

i also like to use loads of reverb on what i am doing and it sounds really good… fuzzes and OD are a must, also try a POG or Octave Multiplexer, to get that extra octave growl

extra tip: use a very light chorus before everything else, and compress NOTHING!

you can listen to the stuff i just said over here: http://www.myspace.com/dronesofviridiana for the full on drone experience and http://www.myspace.com/beggingshaman for something with a bass and drums…

hope i hepled… for more info you can just pm me i have tons of info on what you are lookin for

    cheers

in reply to: Dub-Step Wobble Bass? #112782

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMbP3Yr2nmk

when i recommended this pedal i was thinking of this video at 1.10… about the wobble i dont know for sure it can be done, but from seeing this video again i dont see the EXP jack occupied… so i may be wrong in any case buy before you buy because the sound that you are looking is kinda special to be played live instead for programmed in a computer… again i am no expert in these genres so.. dont take anything i say too seriously

    enjoy the search

in reply to: Dub-Step Wobble Bass? #112779

try the bass synth by boss.. SYB-5 i think is the name of the model, for the chancge in the wobbles tempo (which if i remember dubstep happens alot) can be achieved with the expression pedal… check our the youtube demo and i think that you’ll be covered

    i hope this helped

in reply to: Sovtek Amps Anyone? #112710

bumping this for personal reasons… what do you guys think about a couple of sovteks together… i alrady have a Mig50 and i was thinking of adding a Mig30 to my arsenal and bi-amp… one for cleans & headroom and the other(mig30) as a cool overdriven-nasty-sludgy-distorted sound… i was thinking of using my LS-2 to select between amps and a boss volume pedal to control the gain on the mig30

let me know what you guys think!! all opinions welcome… help out a fellow addict :P
