I have been very interested in getting the HOG for my rig, but why was it discontinued for so long with no replacement on the horizon?? EHX is oddly silent about this.

It is incredible to me that the brilliant Effectology series features the HOG so prominently, yet HOG has disappeared from the product line without official comment. Listen to all the wonderful sounds you CAN’T get out of EHX pedals…I’m sure others are also frustrated.

Personally I’ll buy a used HOG on Ebay if I can. But first I would need to reverse-engineer the footpedal to translate MIDI into some kind of signal the HOG can understand to recall the presets. If someone can create such a box I bet there would be a market for it–at least until/unless EHX implements MIDI in a future edition of the HOG. One can only hope. It would make a lot of sense for those of us using MIDI presets and pedal loops in our rigs.

So, EHX what’s the story?
