well as far as i can tell my midi sync works just fine… its syncing up perfectly with the KP3
i just cant figure out why i cannot start recording or playback while in ext.clock mode
spencer vexMemberi have yet to experience any lockup of any sort
when are you engaging the ext.clock exactly?
before you loop/dub?
after the first loop/dub?
sorry just trying to find out exactly whats up also
spencer vexMemberi just slaved my 2880 to my korg KP3 and im getting similar results
i only have the out from the KP3 to the in on the 2880.. no midi loop
the only reason i really wanted to sync them is for tempo/bpm, and when in ext.clock mode it does work. when i tap the tap pad on my KP3 the tempo on the 2880 changes accordingly… which is nice, but i cant engage it into ext.clock mode while recording or playing back loops.
let say ive just recorded one dub on each of the 4 tracks and im listening back to them. and then lets say i wanna change the tempo, i should be able to then press the ext.clock button on the 2880 and then change the bpms on the KP3 which should in turn change the tempo of the loop playing back… except when you hit ext.clock while a loop is playing the 2880 stops the playback and goes directly into ext.clock mode. so there is no way of using ext.clock mode if you wanna keep the playback running w/out pause… ?
is this correct?
spencer vexMemberQuote:Sorry, I hadn´t understood what you said. Well, I could do that, but when recording an entire tune, then I´d have to do all the rythms in the real length of the whole tune before starting playng and singing, is that it? I´m trying to find a way to simplify that, by looping one track without looping the others, but I cant´find how to do it…unfortunately the length of your entire “loop” or “tune” is dictated by how long the first recorded loop or dub is
i dont believe there is any way around that
if so id love to know!
spencer vexMemberQuote:Quote:Hello, I´ve just got one too. My knobs seem ok, not loose or anything. My question is another: I´d like to use one loop as rythm, and build it real fast, so I can play the rest of the tune with that rythm. But it seems that the rest of the tracks all remain with the same length of the first one I record. Isn´t it possible to record longer tracks than the first recording, without it going overdubbing once the length of the first recording reaches the end? Thanks
Sal
I’m not really sure about that on the 2880. I don’t have any experience with it. Couldn’t you just make your first rhythm as long as you need it for the loops going over it? Say you need a 4-bar rhythm, with an 8 bar overdub. Why not just play the 4bar rhythm twice when recording it in? Then you have all the time you need for the overdubs
Salbador, im using the 2880 similar to the way you are. and McHaven nailed it… or at least that is how ive been doing it. instead of starting the new loop with just a couple of bars, im trying to record as many bars as the longest loop you will need for that song. make sense?
or you could put another looper after the 2880, but that may be a bit much.
hopefully EH or whoever will continue to push the looper boundaries and eventually have a looper that can be programmed to act accordingly.
have any of you slaved your 2880 to another device?
spencer vexMemberim still runnin 10.4.11 and would love to know this as well
spencer vexMemberwell actually as soon as i unwrapped it from the bubble wrap and bag it was in i went right for the faders. specifically because im going to be using the track faders alot. being the skratch head that i am i know what heavy use can do to a contact fader. all was well with the faders.
then i started turning dials. everything was cool until i got the the clix lever dial. it felt “flimsy” so i inspected further. the dial cap slid off it pretty easily and i saw the stem. the stem turned just fine, but it had alot of play from side to side… thats what i mean by the “flimsy” feel. it feels as if the dial isnt seated or mounted to the unit very well. after putting the cap back on i checked others and found a couple of others that just dont feel mounted well. they spin or turn just fine, but move around within the faceplate hole.
other than that im totally impressed with this product. its easily the nicest looper ive ever laid hands on.
i just hope this unit lasts for a long time.
spencer vexMemberQuote:so the 2880 arrived today and i just opened it up.first impression was of the build quality. it seems to be built extremely well except for the rotaries…
they feel loose or flimsy. anyone else notice this on any EH product?
this is my first EH purchase and ive been hearing such good things
whats up with the dials tho?
are there any EH employees who can comment on this?
these rotary dials (example: inputs, pans, clix level etc…) are wobbly
meaning they actually wobble from side to side… the clix level dial being the worst
are they supposed to be like this?
thanks
spencer vexMemberafter the first go im very impressed
performance is solid!
spencer vexMemberoh and im still waiting for the foot controller
i ordered all this from GC and the foot controllers are on backorder
so i cant really run this thing through the paces yet
spencer vexMemberQuote:Quote:ok now somethin seems weirdi just opened the user manual and it looks as if it was put together by hand… possibly a 10 year olds hands
serially, the pageas are all over the place. all bent up lookin like a backdoor xerox job.
what gives?
hahaha, is this your first ehx pedal? all ehx ‘manuals’ are photo copied sheets of paper!
why pay extra for a glossy manual is the motto I guess.
yeah it is
and at first i thought “maybe thats just how they do their manuals… “
i can dig it tho
ima take it for a spin right now
