Really? No one else has noticed this?
I spent a little more time playing with it this morning and as far as I can tell, not only are the SQSH/NORM and LAMP/LED switches reversed, but the modes selected by those switches is reversed. IE the labeling on the unit is:
LAMP / LED | SQSH / NORM
but as far as I can tell the real functionality is:
NORM / SQSH | LED / LAMP
While the switches being reversed is obvious from examining the unit, my assessment that the settings on those switches are reversed is based on my listening to the unit. I suppose I could trace it out to confirm.
One thing that is still kind of mysterious to me is with the COMPRESS turned all the way down, ie no signal going to the light source driver circuitry, switching between LAMP and LED still dramatically changes the gain, with the LAMP being much louder than LED. There’s nothing obvious to me in the schematic that should account for this. I would expect for the amounts of compression to be different once I started turning up the compress knob, but I don’t quite get why the end to end gain of the amp without compression would change. Does this indicate a fault in my pedal or is this normal operation?
Thanks!
Chris
