I agree with this guy above me–a lot of local musicians seem to check me for answers regarding their pedals, pedal-placement, etc. when I’m just someone that reads up on gear he wants/has.
souljah671MemberHaha, I used to be that guy asking the dumb questions…now I do exactly as the Mods suggested: read your manuals thoroughly before asking a question on this forum. I admit I asked some newb-related questions before, but I love the feedback I get on this forum, positive or negative. That’s why now, I just ask questions regarding signal routing or pedal placement to discover new tones from my lovely EHX pedals.
They’re right about the whole pro vs. musician thingie…
souljah671MemberQuote:Quote:Quote:Quote:Exactly. I’ve got Boss DS-1, EHX BMP, Ibanez TK-999, MXR Wylde OD and a MXR Micro amp. I use all of them with low gain settings and cascade them they give some very interesting sounds combined. How IS the Ibanez TK-999…is it versatile or just meant for one distortion type?
souljah671MemberI’d recommend the Deluxe Memory Boy…just love that pedal!
souljah671MemberOddly enough…I don’t really like the tone of most Tech21 amps. The one I did hear, probably wasn’t all that to me kus the guy playing it sucked and had shitty tone. But I’ll take your word on the pedals. So the Sun beta is where it’s at? Any other pedals you’d recommend? I play a wide variety of music, mostly reggae, but also blues, bossa nova, jazz, etc. and I’m trying to find gear that I can shape to whatever tone I want.
souljah671MemberI wanted to get the Sansamp ParaDriver DI, but now that you mention it…I always wanted to see how those tube-sounding pedals sound. Thanks for the input. And by the way…I still can’t believe Dimebag mostly used solid-state amps!
souljah671MemberThanks for the replies. I just wanted input on this issue. I don’t have a quality amplifier so I use guitar pedals to help with my tone…I wish I could get a tube amp…someday.
souljah671MemberMan…my dream delay pedal (Time Bender) How IS that pedal?

souljah671MemberI wouldn’t know…only owned solid-state amps. I’ve tried a few tube amps, but I would have to own one to really notice the difference
souljah671MemberWow…I glanced that VS Volume pedal but didn’t know it could act as an expression pedal…interesting
souljah671MemberIf you read the manual, it states that when you increase the knob, the amount and decay are controlled with this…I think, I forgot exactly what the manual says–but basically, the one knob controls all the parameters you would want to control on a regular reverb pedal.
Hope this helps out a little
souljah671MemberI’ve been meaning to try the whole separate power supply thing. Thanks for the tip
souljah671Memberthe pedals that are always on are the sonic maximizer, the boost, reverb…and eq (althought I switched it out for a rack dbx 215 graphic eq)
October 1, 2010 at 12:27 pm in reply to: order all the EHX pedals you’ve owned from favorite to least favorite #111739souljah671Member1. Q-Tron+
2. LPB-1 (Nano)
3. Graphic Fuzz (XO)
4. Holy Grail (Nano)
5. DXMBI could literally do a gig all by myself with just these five pedals…for distortion, all I have to do is crank the LPB and roll off the volume on my guitar for some sweet, natural-sounding overdrive…but the Q-Tron+ is just too much fun.
