In case anyone is interested, I finally did another demo with my Metal Muff. The intention was to show the pedal and amp settings, and how the pedal sounds in the context of drums and bass. It gets a little crazy visually, but anyhow, got the High Definition setting on You Tube going. :)

Thanks! I am glad if it is helpful in any way. I am going to try to do one more Metal Muff demo using pinch harmonics type stuff, a better mic, better lighting, and hopefully in high definition video since You Tube seems to support that type of video. I mention in the vid description about changing tubes and although I like the Tung Sol preamp tubes, the stock Electro-Harmonix preamp are awesome also and I think better for what I like to play. My current preamp setup is a Tung Sol 12AX7 in the first slot and an Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH in the second slot.

Again, thanks for checking it out.

I was going to try to be funny by saying something like, “I am looking forward to a possible Muff Diver T-shirt assuming EHX ever makes a Wah-Wah/Pitch Bend pedal.” But apparently someone out there is making a Muff Dive pedal (or “made” since it was apparently a reverse engineered Big Muff copy). I would assume EHX legal team could easily gain control of that name though. Anyhow, the t-shirts look good.

I play guitars with either a Seymour Duncan TB-5 or a Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis Distortion pickup in the bridge through a Kustom Coupe ’36 tube amp. I usually use the Metal Muff with the clean channel on the amp. When I switch the Metal Muff off and use the lead channel on the amp, as nice as that overdrive is, I definitely miss all the stuff happening with the Metal Muff on. I built my guitars and wired the tone controls on the pickups similar to the G&L PTB setup. When I turn the treble all the way down on the guitars and hit the top boost, I get another very usuable distortion which has a little muffiness flavor, and with tremendous presence. It is like a cherry on top. Delicious, but you save it for special occasions during a song. And of course using the Metal Muff with the lead channel is yet another option. :p

This seems like a great pedal for those of us who sing off key like myself. :p Damn cool pedal. Can’t find it at MusiciansFriend yet. Actually, I am still waiting for a Bass Big Muff from MF that is backordered.
