I prefer to put it after my fuzz/distortion/overdrives. I think it gives it a more organizc feeling when you’re using it for solos.
SiriustarMemberAnd for just over $200, at that!
SiriustarMemberNo, it’s a Lyle. I sold it, actually. I’m kind of thinking about getting a Gretsch to fill the hollowbody void in my life.
SiriustarMemberJack Conte’s video is what made me want to buy it!
Unfortunately I’ve got a bunch of other stuff I need to buy first.
“If I were a rich man….”
SiriustarMemberYeah! I use it mainly for guitar, and you can get some real chunky stuff from it. I like to put an OD or as boost before it, and on “Norm,” you get some extra cut to the notes. If you use a clear overdrive (I use a Barber LTD) and put the BBM on “dry,” you can get some crazy high-gain, fat, fuzzy tones, but with a bunch of clarity, still! Love it!

SiriustarMemberSiriustarMemberI play either a FrankenStrat with Lollar Blackface PUs or a ’72 Thinline Tele RI (soon to have Lollar Imperials) into a Fender Blues Jr. Nothing against the other amps, it’s just the sound/feel I want.
I do find that Fenders take pedals pretty well.
SiriustarMemberI was thinking about trying a video in the style of Jack Conte. When he first started making them, he was trying to sort of start a new type of media. I’m not sure where I’d start, though… what software, etc.
SiriustarMemberThere’s always the Blues Jr., too. Great little amps. I replaced the speaker in mine with a Ceramic Weber Blue Dog. Very chimey and sweet.
I find that wattage is really, really not so important. 15 tube watts is enough for most any small venue, and any venue where you’d need something larger, they’d mike it, anyway. Nothing against larger, or more expensive amps. I find the Blues Jr. suit most of my needs, though.
SiriustarMemberBoxes are a must!
SiriustarMemberYeah, bass amps are often used by keyboard players, because they have such a wide frequency response. Hell, I used to play guitar out of my bass amp. Sounded fine.
Sometimes, I do this: guitar > Micro POG (also has a dry out) and then run the dry into other pedals, then guitar amp, and the effect into the bass amp.
SiriustarMemberI’m not sure, but I know that mine’s noisy if I power it with a OneSpot. A BOSS 9V adapter should eliminate any noise problems (if that’s an issue you’ve been experiencing). The adapter I use is 300mV, and it works fine.
SiriustarMemberI guess the review isn’t up yet. I’ll post it when it comes up.
