@plaguex1 Which Voodoo Lab are you successfully running the DMB from at 12V? Or anyone else that has had success with this? I tried last night–flipping the jumper on outputs 1-4 on a PP2+ doesn’t work, as it yields 12.3V regulated which, as another poster already said, is too much and disables the effect. Unit powers up, but you get dry signal only and no wet. I don’t have as much experience with outputs 5-6, but according to the manual when the jumper is flipped, it’s 14.5V / 12V (unregulated) 50mA / 200mA+. I’m nervous to try the DMB on those outputs without more info. Anyway, I’m anxious to try this out but need a bit of help!
*UPDATE*
Just got off the phone with Voodoo Lab support (which rocked, btw… super helpful). He looked up the current draw on the DMB and confirmed that it would NOT work on a jumpered output 1-4 at 12V because it’s not getting quite enough current. It’s possible other things could be going on with regard to how the DMB responds to voltages slightly over 12, but he said I’d have to find out about that from EHX. But running outputs 1-4 at 12V definitely wouldn’t supply enough current. He suspected it would work on TWO of those outputs with a current doubling cable, or *maybe* outputs 5 or 6 jumpered, but again, before recommending that he said I should find out from EHX how the DMB responds to the possibility of slightly more than 12V since it’s unregulated on those outputs and you wouldn’t want to risk damaging it.So I needed some voltage doubler cables from Voodoo Lab anyway, so I had him toss in a current doubling cable just to have one. We’ll see what happens. Oh and unless someone responds here, I’ll see if I can hunt down info from EHX about the 12V+ issue.
