I had the same problem with my switch, it hung up pretty badly, would latch when I didn’t want it to, and wouldn’t when I did. I got the go-ahead to replace the SPST momentary switch and then got to thinking…
I was a piano player before anything else and I’d always wanted a sustain pedal that worked like that on a piano. So I found one for a keyboard with switchable polarity (the Freeze wants normal open) and replaced my bunk stock switch with a mono jack.
Now, I connect the piano pedal to the jack where the old switch used to be and I have an absolutely perfect momentary connection with hefty spring to kick it back up. It’s exactly what I’ve wanted this pedal to be like since I got it. No drilling, two solder connections. What could be easier?!
