I don’t think I’ve ever seen a paint variation really affect the value of an EHX pedal, they were quite common and it’s not a huge variation so i’d expect to get an average price for it.

Took me a second to spot it, the black painted box around the foot switch covers more area and the electro-harmonix name is inside the black box rather than below it.

A rarer paint style, yes, but no, not a one of a kind https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/2962/#26271

Where are you located? If you’re in the EU I can get that working for you, in the US, you should try contacting The EH Man.

If you PM me your e-mail address I have a copy of the original PCB art work.

And no, this pedal takes DC, it’s just called an AC Adaptor because it changes the wall AC to DC.

It’s hard to read but it’s a BC309, I think they might be a little trickier to find these days, a 2N5087 is a perfectly acceptable substitute, EHX switched between the 2 transistor types all the time.

Can you upload the photos somewhere else (photobucket, imgur or whatever) the forum shrinks them to thumbnail size, makes it a bit difficult to see.

And The EH Man is a member on the forum who specializes in EHX pedals and repairing them but yes this shouldn’t be too tricky a fix once you know where the wire goes.

Where are you located? I can do EU repairs and in the US The EH Man will probably be your best bet.

But the wire either goes to pin 1 of one of the 4558 or EH1048(CA3094), can’t tell which without seeing the rest of the board.

I’m sure it’s quite fixable, you say you’re using a 24DC supply so I take it this is a big box reissue, I would have thought EHX can still repair these if you contact them, if not, try contacting The EH Man on the forum. I’d offer but if you’re using a US supply you probably don’t want to ship to the UK :)

It’s impossible to make an informed diagnosis from that information, I could take some guesses but it needs to be properly debugged.

Okay well Thailand’s main supply is 220V so being a 240V model that should be okay but first things first is to confirm voltage is actually getting to the pedal from the transformer seeing as you’re not getting light from the power indicator.

The transformer will have 3 wires coming from it to the board so set your DMM to AC put the black probe to the enclosure or other suitable ground point and check the 2 outer wires of the transformer that connect to the PCB with the red lead.

Assuming that checks out, then set the meter to DC and check the 3 pins of the power transistor inside (should have a metal tab on it and read 2N6111) and post the voltages you get.

Check ebay completed listings but, personally I wouldn’t want to pay more than about £120 if I wanted to get a good deal on it.

The Echo/Chorus used a single MN3005, not Reticons, but it has no companding circuitry so it’ll still be a bit noisy.

I think a lot of people like this model for its chorus sound more so than its delay.

Very quick glance for the moment but the 4013 looks bad and your bias is off, try replacing the 4013, posting the new voltages you get and tweaking the bias trimmer.

I’ll take a more thorough look in about a week.

Yes the red lead is the positive voltage and black is ground.
