SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:THX! I like ambient-style post-rock playing at home mostly, but with band you’ve got to put some riffs in too. So I use all the self oscillation and veeeeery long reverbs mainly for beginnings of the songs and for connecting songs together – infinite button on the Cathedral there is great because you can put in a flerb drone, while setting other effects for another song…I use delay and fuzz a lot (hardly any song without them) and combining analog delay and velcro-style fuzz on the FF is just killer! :metal:
I’m not changing the amp settings so much – I have the eq set the same all the time – for tone changes I use different pickups, and for overdrive I usually set the amp for crunch and then feed it with pickup booster – works great that way… :rawk:
And I’m really considering buying the Octave Multiplexer because many times I’m jamming just with my drummer and I usually tune the low E string to A so I can play octaves with a deep bass sound on the same fret hitting two strings – with the FuzzFactory it really sounds like distortion bass and a fuzzy guitar in unisono…The problem is that this tuning gives my strings a hard time a I don’t want to put a thicker E string just for this fun…But I’m really thinking about the Octave Multiplexer not only for this, but also for fattening and giving more bass ocassionaly to the sound….Is it possible? Can it be also used as a “Bassboost” ?
I guess so, from vids I’ve seen. Mine is the deluxe version, which is discontinued, but I think its basically the same circuit. Since this version has a fuzz built in I use it with flanger or chorus in stereo and that creates a really thick and synthy tone, sliding thru the fretboard is really nice. I have posted a video here on the vintage ehx section. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y3H8sjH9wA I have to say tho that it can be glitchy if you use any pickup other than the neck one and even so is glitchy, buy sometimes in a good way
SanquiFlerbMemberI see the imageshack frog, but with the link I see them fine. That’s a nice board there, nice selection of pedals. I think I should get a delay, I’ve always wanted a memory toy. I never had a formal board since with the band I play at I just use the amp’s distortion/clean channels. Sometimes at home if I feel like droning I use my bmp, or use a chorus in stereo, or whatever I feel like with the deluxe octave multiplexer, I have a very wide range of musical styles that I like. Maybe I should take a group photo of my pedals
SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:Hi all !!! First post here…I’m so glad I made it at last – I made a deal with myself that I can join this forum as soon as I get the 3rd EHX pedal – and on Sunday I finally got my dream pedal – the Deluxe Memory manSo here is my current pedalboard: (based on the original Ikea Gorm pedalboard – but I would paint it orange (I love orange, you see) even if the original one was pink – so I’m not copying (that much):
Zvex FuzzFactory Clone (has the Union Jack paint job)–> Ibanez tuner–> Morley Wah/Volume–> Boss DS-2
–> Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster–> EHX Deluxe Memory boy–> AMP [Engl Thunder] and then all EHX FX loop –> EHX Deluxe Memory Man–> EHX CathedralWishlist – SMMw/Hazarai {for multi tap, looper, reverse and sometimes longer digital delay is needed]
– Expression pedal for DMB [that’s actually first in the list]
– Small Stone – probably the vintage one.
– And something for layered sounds so probably Pulsar, Octave Multiplexer or Micro Pog, even
though I don’t like digital polyphonic octavers for it’s unnatural digital tone, it’s good
for layering…
– VOX AC30 to replace my ENGL – and maybe an Orange Tiny Terror as a second AMP (it doesn’t
have an FX loop, otherwise I would’ve already got it…
– Fender Jazzmaster – my dream guitar…My favourites are Cathedral, DMB and FuzzFactory (it’s too soon for DMM although it dazzled me immediately). Cathedral is outstanding, I think it actually has no peers – predelay is fantastic, so is the infinite mode and I find Flerb the best feature…DMB is great and not only for it’s features, but the sound is also amazing – apart from “normal” delay usage (delay is my favourite effect – I use it nearly in every song) it can do synthy sounds and amazing self oscillation using the square wave modulation. And what should I say about FuzzFactory? Well it should’ve been EHX effect – it does have the same attributes – it has a great sound + it does some freaky out of this world sounds (I love the fizzy velcro fuzz)…I use DS-2 just for changing color of my AMP’s middle-based crunch tone and it’s my first pedal and an orange one, so I can never get rid of it. And the booster for pushing my amp and also for solos using FF or DS-2.
I’m so looking forward to playing more with the DMM – I bought it (appart from the fantastic sound, a need of two delay pedals and cooler looks) mainly because my DMB doesn’t have equally loud repeats as my dry signal and I didn’t want to put a booster in it’s FX loop – I like it as it is, just needed another delay that doesn’t have this problem…
I play mostly alternative rock inspirated by english bands (Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse) blended with a bit of post-rock, Jack White kind of fuzz licks and composition is inspired with classical music a lot I guess.
I also play piano (far longer than guitar) so here is my band setup: (ignore the mess )
can’t see any pics but I love your name 😆

SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:On the literature I got with my 22 Caliber it says it’ll work with 4-16 ohms, but not reliably at 4ohms… break up problems and all.Yes, that is true, but later on they found out that at 4 ohms it was unstable and now they advertise it to work at 8-16 ohms
SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:Yeah, measuring plate voltage is over my head, but I think you’re right in that I’m screwed. I guess I was hoping EHX would just jump in, say they’re sorry I got a bum unit and send me a new one. A quieter one. For my VO work I always had to use a noise gate after the 12AY7 pre. My previous tech support queries whet unanswered.I came here to tell you about the contact info because since this is the official ehx forum people thinks that ehx staff pops up every day and reads posts, which is not the case even if it should be that way. ehx staff rarely posts here unfortunately, because it would be nice to get official support on line.
SanquiFlerbMemberThis forum is for discussion between ehx users. If you want to get your unit repaired contact them https://www.ehx.com/about/contact . Good luck with it!
SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:44 Watts at 8 ohms?or 16 ohms, but it doesn’t work on 4. when they first advertised the 22′ it was supposed to work on 4 ohms too, but there where issues with it, so they stopped advertising that it worked on 4 ohms
SanquiFlerbMemberBoth the 22 and the 44 work only on 8 or 16 ohms.
SanquiFlerbMemberQuote:For me one of the main things I’d look for in a looper would be the ability to recall loops. Like presets, maybe only 8 or so, but being able to recall loops without having the play the parts in opens up all sorts of avenues for exploration. What about a nano looper like that one above and another on a large XO case with presets and a drum machine, and extra stuff, like a 2880 but XO’d
SanquiFlerbMemberyou are welcome

there you have the thread with all the settings from that video
SanquiFlerbMemberSanquiFlerbMemberQuote:do you have the multilplexer before the muff? octave pedals love to be in front.I liked the muff first, after just amplified all the glitches from the dom, but the tracking was better.
Today was a busy day. Between tonight and tomorrow I’ll have the clips ready and posted
SanquiFlerbMemberbought the correct adaptor, and it sounds awesome. the power light works sort of randomly, but it’s ok. The pedal sounds awesome solo and with chorus, but it doesn’t get along with my black muff. tomorrow i’ll post clips.
