Hi Folks! Having eventually bitten the proverbial bullet and started listing items on ebay I’ve eventually listed my Mogwai Big Muff as well. You may recall back in May 2010 I suggested that I might sell it and ended up taking photos of the insides so that it might be determined one way or the other that it is other than a standard Big Muff.
I see that at least one other Mogwai box sold on ebay a matter of days ago. My listing is: 220694554036. Just go to the ebay site and paste the number into the Search box.
Although I’m hoping to sell the box to someone in the UK, I will post it abroad, packaged as securely as I can to prevent any damage in transit. It remains to be seen whether anyone else does actually want one. I’m not messing about with 99p start prices. It just wastes everybody’s time. Curiously, perhaps for no other reason than it is the only prize I have ever won in a competition, I will be sad to see it go. I’ve had it a long time. Anyway, over to you now. Thanks for reading. Regards, Rick
RickMemberIf you really need the info’ I am prepared to undo the front switches to release the PCB so you can see the components on the other side.
RickMemberWill do. I’m in no hurry. Here’s the photo as requested.
RickMemberSorry for the dealy. Had to go out. No problem. I’ll undo the screws again and uplaod another picture. Good job there’s only 6!
RickMemberIt says “EC3003” at the top of the board and “SEP 01 00” at the bottom. Does this help?
RickMemberI’ll undo it again and see what’s there.
RickMemberHere are a couple of pictures that I’ve taken. I hope they show enough as I’m not keen on stripping it down completely to see the other side of the pcb.
RickMemberQuote:oh, btw… it is against the forums policy to sell directly on here (long story) but if you wanted to list it somewhere else and link from here that’s fine as long as the ‘deal’ isn’t done on this forum.Understood. I don’t want to upset anyone. However, if someone expresses an interest they can always arrange to contact me direct, or I’ll list it on e-Bay. However, if there appears to be no serious interest it can go back in the loft.
RickMemberQuote:Hi mate there is a thread about them here.https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/149/
could you please do us all a massive favour and open it up and take some pictures of the insides because nobody seems to be able to find out just what version of the muff is inside and if it is any different to a regular muff. If you could do that before you sell it, we’d really appreciate it. .. as for value, no idea.. but If I had one I wouldn’t let it go for under £200.
How did you acquire it?
I certainly have no objections to opening it up, as long as I’m in no danger of damaging it. I was a regular reader of several guitar magazines, which I thoroughly enjoyed even though I was a beginner. I entered a competition and won it! It was the first, and probably last, competition I ever won. I certainly was not intending to sell it under £200. I’d rather keep it as a curiosity. It just seems a shame that I can’t use it. I recall some time back a forum member in the US saying he’d pay $500. Recalling that is what tempted me to join the forum. Even so it’s taken me a while to actually do it.
