Okay I now have a working microphone with XLR connection plugged into the switch. Though neither in Mic Bypass mode or regular does it alter my voice in any way. I have been through each setting for presets down the list with the knobs full left, 50%, and full right. I tried both with the Preset light on and off. I’m not sure what that light means anyways.

At this point I am at a loss. I would appreciate some assistance in getting this working.

    UPDATE:

I consulted a professional sound guy and he came to look at my setup after we failed to get it to work through an hour or so on the phone. Upon further inspection he determined that it is an issue where it seems the computer headset microphone requires phantom power, but it is less than 48v. Currently, he is attempting to locate a different headset for me which I can wire into my equipment and then into the computer, but another solution exists by which a circuit can be built to make the necessary conversion. Here is a website which explains in greater detail what part of the problem is, and one solution for building a circuit to address it.

I will post more as we go so others running into the same issue may eventually reach a resolution as well, and hopefully with less experimentation.

I am unsure if my mixer will handle that sort of configuration, but I will look into it. I would assume you may be correct about the balanced/unbalanced part as you likely know more than me on this topic and it doesn’t seem like the headset manufacturer really designed the headset to be used in this manner so it would make sense that it is unbalanced.

Let me look into that further. I also have the USB Audio Interface which may work, but I will need to talk to a friend on how to set it up as I’m just a computer programmer and just trying to fumble my way through this audio stuff.

The LED is working, but I get no sound on any presets with the LED on or off. I tried with the preset LED on/off through combinations all night too just to make sure it wasn’t that.

    Here’s the headset: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015WKYI50/

If the switch is bad I can return it and get another. Likely refund and get that other one you mentioned. I just don’t want to have to wait another month really is the only issue with that.

I went through each preset with the mic bypass on and once again with it off. There is no sound coming from the microphone, and I just double checked. Am I to assume at this point that my problem the whole time may have been a faulty switch?

Okay I plugged the XLR together and the mic sound is not coming through. If I plug the 3.5mm cable extension from the mic directly into the computer then it works fine. If I plug the mic directly into the XLR without the extension then there is still no sound. So perhaps my XLR converters are not working properly?

    They are:

    and

    EDIT:

My apologies, I had the headset muted. The straight through connection does work properly as expected. Once I plug the voice box back into the setup the mic no longer is working properly.

Okay I have tried setting to both Octaves and Unison+Whistle as you suggested, but no sound is being played back to me when I select to “Listen to this device” from within Windows microphone properties. I have not changed any cables from what is pictured, just the knob.
