puppiesonacidParticipantno problem. glad you know about that resource. could it be something a stupid as a bad jack? my other thought is a bad opamp (4558)
puppiesonacidParticipantlooks real to me. looks like non OEM knobs. pcb looks legit also. open it up to confirm. it will have silk screen part values and a pcb model number. sometimes silk screening mistakes happens. i’ve noticed some ehx pedals for sale that have the graphics slightly askew. screws go missing sometimes and sometimes whatever sheet metal screws or similar looking one is shoved in the hole. battery cover only ever has one screw. the other two metal “thingies” you may have noticed before are rivets which are used to affix the battery clip to the metal plate that makes the battery “door”. sometimes this is hidden by the black vinyl and sometimes its not. sometimes its repaired. all depends on the history of the individual unit.
easiest way to confirm if its legit is remove the 4 screws on the face of the pedal an pull it apart. take pics of the PCB and post them here.
puppiesonacidParticipantwell, pulled the trigger and im not disappointed. answered all my own questions. if anyone has any, let me
know. any info/reviews/ comments on the web are either a.) wrong/misinformed b.) incomplete.puppiesonacidParticipantyou may be better served going here:

puppiesonacidParticipantseems about the current going rate for that pedal. i cant speak to the tone but if it’s the hook tome your after, go with the clone theory. its what he used.
puppiesonacidParticipantyeah, either they are looking to stir the pot or they genuinely want help. cant tell. I dont mind having a helpful and engaging discussion but this is one way to kick a hornets nest on home turf.
puppiesonacidParticipantthanks EHX STAFF:coolsmile:
puppiesonacidParticipantget a latching stomp switch that has the same poles as the toggle switch and wire it the same way.. drill a hole, tighten it down and stomp on/off away.
puppiesonacidParticipantI mean Andy Summer, David Gilmour, The Edge, King Crimson, and lots of players can’t be that tone deaf.

HaHaHaHa.
Yeah, while not all ehx pedals are everyones cup of tea. if you are still batting 0 for 0 after playing a deluxe memory man idk what to tell you. what kind of music are you into? what are your favorite songs/albums/guitar tones? what gets your creative juices flowing?
what kind if rig do you have? how long have you been playing? how good of a player are you? do you know effects placement to optimize sounds?
I mean, there’s so many things to know to even give you a modicum of a decent answer.
Since the covid started, ive been trying out lots of pedals . ce-2 vs small clone, tried a dc-2, boss oc-2 all my tests leave EHX the winner lately. idk why but it just sound better to me and are in line with the sounds i love listening to. The DMM, Bass Microsynth, Graphic Fuzz, QTron Plus, Small Clone are all here to stay.
I play rock, grunge, metal, jazz, country rock, progressive. im good with EHX at my feet.
July 31, 2020 at 7:28 pm in reply to: Grand Canyon: what is the difference between Mod and DMM? #126320puppiesonacidParticipantGC is a digital delay, DMM is the best analog delay ever. I havent tried the GC yet but it doesnt get any better than DMM. DMM can operate with vibrato as well and can be run as a standalone chorus or vibrato if desired.
puppiesonacidParticipantok thank you. I didnt think that ehx tech support would be willing to field questions on an old unit, especially if it’s been modified.
puppiesonacidParticipantthats what i figured. I’ve never had the opportunity to try a HOG or HOG2. I just got a shotgunn modded bass micro synth with expression pedal and I’m sooooo glad i did. I have had some synth infatuation going on and while I was waiting for the BMS to arrive I picked up a subdecay M3 and Octasynth and Boss SYB-5. The M3 and SYB-5 have cool tones but they glitch way too much for my playing.
Still, the HOG2 has some really awesome features. The freeze function intrigues me as does the assignable foot control. My only beef is that a lot of demos seem to focus on making the guitar sound like an organ and im looking for more synth tones, emulating various synth sounds found on Hearts Magic man, ELP’s from the Beginning, The Stranger Things Theme song, Head East’s “Never Been any Reason” and trying to emulate the filter and tone of the Roland 303.
So far, i’ve found the BMS covers whats capable with the M3 (just add an analog chorus) and Octasynth (similar feeling filter response )
Regretting blowing the extra money but so happy with the BMS and the shotgunn FA and expression pedal mod just rock. Im actualy thinking of picking up another big box BMS just to have as a backup and for dialing in the filter and square wave differently.
Just curious, is there any other pedal in EHX’s lineup (past or current) that has the same filter and the BMS? The Q tron plus has my curiosity peaked and really wondering what sounds are possible with the effects loop. I would also love to have a pedal that just produces and pure square wave. I just love that sound.
thanks in advance. Glad to finally be a part of the EHX family!
