While we’re on the topic, are digital ehx effects like my good ole SMMH true bypass? When i hear digital, I think buffered, and that totally fucks with my fuzzes. That’s why I never use boss pedals.
I think as far as ods/distortions/fuzzes, they should stay analogue. But I’ve played with the #1 echo and micro pog and it sounded just fine. The only thing is digital isn’t as spontaneous, it’s very precise and exact usually. Thats what charms me with analogue is there’s always that small (tiny) factor it could do something amazing at the right time. Example: Blue Box.
PumpkinPiecesMemberPumpkinPiecesMemberi’ll have to get the Screaming Bird to match my Singing Tree. =]
PumpkinPiecesMemberWhats wrong with vertical? I’d think it’d get in the way if it was horizontal, especially if you have to step on two or more effects next to eachother. You might catch your foot on the tube-cage and then song ruined =[. Yeah thats a bit melodramatic…..
PumpkinPiecesMemberYeah, whats wrong with steely dan?

PumpkinPiecesMemberI use two Fenders currently: a Mexi Jazzmaster and a mexi telecaster. I love mexican fender, they’re super reliable. I don’t really need the “excellent tone” of an american because I’m pushing my guitar through five or so fuzzes anyways,
I also use a Gibson SG Classic, and Eastwood Hi-flyer. SG’s are my favorite shaped guitars, they’re lightweight and all the controls are off to the side and out of the way of my strumming. I had to unscre the top pick-up selector on my jazzmaster so I’d stop jacking it at shows.
PumpkinPiecesMemberYeah I’d agree on the holy grail/Doctor Q assumption.
PumpkinPiecesMemberQuote:I prefer OD before a Big Muff, like my DOD-250. After the muff, it colors it too much. But I suspect that my Big Muffs overdrive my pre-amp just a bit.
I imagine it helps either way. When I put it before my singing tree overdrive I get a dying battery-like sound and the low end is super loose like its gated, but you can still hold a note for days.
PumpkinPiecesMemberQuote:I think someone’s going to find themselves not using their warm colored pedals soon.Idk, Big Muff’s always sound better through an overdrive, or overdriven amp to me. They sound way bigger and make up for the thiness if you like the tone knob past 12 o clock.
PumpkinPiecesMemberSmashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Arcade fire, The Vines, The Strokes, The Beatles, The Clash, Daft Punk, Gorillaz.
….thats ten…..I think.
PumpkinPiecesMemberEffector 13/Devi Ever ‘Soda Meiser’ would be a nice one to add to the list.
January 26, 2009 at 11:34 pm in reply to: Help me decide which effects I should get next with my meager supply of cash #91942PumpkinPiecesMemberThe Blue Box was my secret weapon, it’s the coolest thing to put at the beginning of your chain tog et gnarly effects. I’m sure it’d sound even crazier through the pog (or vice versa).

i know you say you don’t really need a boost, but i find a boost useful when used as an always-on ‘line driver’ …
put it at unity gain (or just above) and place it towards the end of your effects chain (certainly after whatever other dirt pedals you’re using and it will act as a kind of enhancer; tightening up your sound…try it. :thumb:
Yeaht hats kind of how I have my singing tree overdrive set up, if it were going into a solid state it’d be clean. I have a few fuzzes before it and some after. It’s essentially my clean channel (even though its somewhat dirty). Makes everything sound real big (I play in a three piece, no worries).

The Hazarai has to be one of the top ten pedals ever made I think.
