I agree, as much as i love layers of fuzz, sometimes when I’m not feeling uber creative I just plug into a box of rock into my classic 50 and I become inspired again. They both have their places, and I appreciate both ends.
I think in the end if you can’t play a song without certain effects you need to ask yourself is it really a good song? What I mean is going on stage with just the option of clean and overdrive and just playing a song. Sure you may have to alter a few parts but it should still hold it’s own as a good piece of music. But I’ve never been in a band with more than three people so I might be a bit one sided here.
But yeah if you feel comfortable just rocking a few stomp boxes I say go for it. As jack white says sometimes too much opportunity kills creativity. :thumb:
“wouldn’t you love to hug a big muff all the time? now it is possible! a super cute large stuffed cushion in the form of the world famous guitar effects pedal BIG MUFF!”
The English Muff’n is the most overlooked and underrated pedal. It’s my main dirt pedal and I love it. I threw a couple of JJ 12AX7’s and it rocks. Roll of the guitar volume and I can get those early AC/DC sounds.
Really? when i first found EHX this was the first pedal I wanted….
Thanks guys, just testing the waters to see how my fellow ehx users like the demos. I know the devi ever forums liked them…but I had an issue when I demoed the DOD YJM308 od/preamp. Apparently Yngwie fans aren’t too open minded .
hope to get another ehx product soon so I can do another video.
Thanks sir. What I meant about the clean boost is if you leave the clean on all the time it gives a preset volume and the volume drop on the small stone isn’t noticeable (to my ears). Also if its before a fuzz the volume drop doesn’t apply either. (for anyone else who is curious.)
and I didn’t mean to be insulting on the anal thing, just my dumb humor.
I have an Eastwood Hi-Flyer in white. The previous owner installed a dimebag darrell pick up in the bridge (it was wide enough to pick up all the strings). The stock pick ups are super noise, which is good for me. So anywho down to business, it is a straight up punk guitar. No matter what position you get this sound of the clash/white stripes/nirvana no matter what fuzz I pus it through. the guitar’s personality and character break through and each pick up selection has its own sound.
i’ve played the Twin tone and a few others as well, all of them played very well. I highly recommend Eastwood guitars, especially now with Fender upping their prices.
