I like it after dirt pedals, but before amp.
propsMemberHi,
Yes you’re right, the buffered mode of the Soul Food helps keeping the tone bright when the pedal is bypassed.
As far as I can remember (I sold mine), the buffer is quite efficient, so leave it on if you can.propsMemberI invite you to check the following thread :

And of course post your own patches. For the flanging effect, i’m still searching too…
Keep in mind that the Ring Thing does not pretend to replace the standard effects, but actually you can play with constructive and destructive interferences in a so large range that you can do almost anything you want (even the worst). You need to understand and deal with the basics of the wave theory to achieve it.propsMemberHi,
Why not posting our favourites here ?Here’s my first one : phasers and tremolo.
Blend : 12 o’clock
Wave : sine
Filter : 5 o’clock
Coarse : just a little more than the min value, around 8 o’clock.
Fine : adjust the speed with itNow you can choose the mode : for a sweet phasing, set to UB or LB. The pitch shift mode will render nothing while the RM mode gives a lovely deep tremolo (even deeper with blend set to max)
propsMemberHi,
What kind of setting would you like ? Vibe ? Ring ? Trem ? Whammy ?…
propsMemberHi everyone,
I’m experiencing a similar problem.
Even after a long tube warmup, noise come and go. It is particularly loud in Normal mode, with the compression knob set from 12 to 5 o’clock. Squash mode is more quiet.
My BF is only 6 months old and is only a few hours of use. I plug it into the send/return loop of my AMT SS11 preamp (tried all ther other positions without better results).
I’ve put a sound extract of what happens hereAny idea of what it could be ? Great pedal, anyway…
Thanks,
Prop’sEdit : one tube is actually involved. The noise disapears when I give it a little slap. Will change it soon.
