I suppose you would just split the signal before the Muff & Soulfood & merge it after them. I admit I find it hard to think through all the possible permutations of your signal chain (I’ve never been any good at chess either).

I think your best bet would be to get a splitter/ merger pedal & experiment. They are very useful pedals to have anyway- I have a Boss LS-2. They’re cheap, useful in many applications, and I’ve noticed no tone-suck whatever the gear snobs say.

I’ve tried separating & recombining the my muff & monkey from the superego with a Boss LS-2 mixer pedal (or you could use a small mixing desk) – it works, but it will take up a lot of room on your board!

Have a look at this thread- https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/5947/

Yes not a bad idea to put it near the end of the chain as you might not necessarily want it going through your overdrive/ distortion pedals- but on the other hand though… Haven’t tried it with a looper pedal so I’m not much help I’m afraid. Obviously one of those pedals that encourages experimentation.

Hi- I have a Superego and it’s a great pedal. However any pedals in the loop are unavailable when the Superego is bypassed. You could probably work around it using some sort of looping arrangement but it would be fiddly. Just one modulation type pedal in the loop sounds great though. You don’t really need to put reverb or delays in the loop as it has a reverberant quality of its own. If you like droney krautrocky or psychedelic type music you’ll love this pedal.

Many thanks. Excuse my ignorance but can the Boss split and mix simultaneously?

Oh! Just noticed Arcadesonfire’s post which seems relevant to my question. My Y lead with resistors doesn’t seem to prevent signal loss on one channel so maybe I need a buffered splitter as Cryabetes suggests. Trouble is- would I need another buffered splitter to recombine the signals as I only have one amp?

Brilliant! Thanks for your detailed and prompt reply- I’ll definitely have a crack at that.
