Hello, I just bought one for $80, it sounds good, I got a 1/8” adapter to plug it onto my pedalboard but I am wondering why should I need a battery in it ? I do not have one in it now and it sounds good.

Very nice, fat sounding, and easy to use envelope filter. It only does the envelope ‘up’, but it covers a nice range of frequencies. The tricky thing is to remember that you need to keep a battery in it, even if you are using a power supply.
