Would you sell the Instant Replay?

There is a mod to add a external jack for a sustain pedal. It should be pretty easy to do, though I paid JHS Pedals to do it for me. They offer the mod on their website.

No, I don’t think she normally repairs pedals. I asked her that same question via freestompboxes.org, where there are several posts regarding the pedals she created, including schematics, and I think she was initially reluctant, but agreed to look at them after a few emails. You can ask her, but your mileage may vary. If not, the EH man might be able to recommend someone.

Cool, I appreciate the offer, but I’m really only collecting the EHX drums that have some sort of clock or trigger.

    So far I have

    Super Space Drum
Drum Sequencer v2 (with Clock and CV out)
    DRM-15

and the non-vintage Clockworks and 8-Step.

I emailed Julia about the Space Drum and Sequencer – both have minor issues – and she is repairing them for me. Saves me the increased odds of wrecking collectible gear if I were to do it myself.

I think I got the Crash Pad schematic from you this weekend – I’m dangerous with a soldering iron, but I’m going to attempt to get the parts and try and breadboard it for now, maybe get a PCB made if I can come close to getting it to work!

I also sent an email to you through the EHX history site regarding manuals for any of the drums, especially the ones listed above. I would pay for soft/hard copies of any of the manuals. I asked Julia, but she doesn’t have them and suggested asking the EHX man!

Looks like this is correct – there is definitely a 3rd version with the clock out and bass out.

Bad panning pot on the dry channel? I had a problem with the headphone and monitor output on my 45000 – it was stuck at a usable level, but the headphone pot had not effect. I ended up sending it in to EHX and they repaired it – turnaround was quick, less than 2 weeks. You might need to do that – aggravating, but probably worth it.

I just acquired one of these with a broken start freq knob – looks like the top of the pot broke off with the knob, but apparently still works. Should be easy enough to replace.

Also – is there a soft copy of the manual floating around, or anyone willing to generate one? The functions seem fairly self explanatory, but the manual would be handy to have.

There is another post about the same issue.

My 45000 is still under warranty, so I’m probably going to send it in for repairs. Sucks to have to pay to and from postage for what looks to be a defective item, but it is what it is. The 45000 is such a cool pedal, and not cheap.

Cool, thanks for the quick reply. I’m thinking I’m going to mail it in for repairs, so I dug the box out of storage to prep it. It sucks that there seem to be a great number of defective 45000 pedals out there, as feature wise, there is no comparison. Having to pay return postage on a really expensive pedal sucks too, but I guess there isn’t much of a choice if I want it repaired.

Setting the depth to 3 on the 8 Step and using a TS cable works with the Line 6 M5, M9 and M13 without having to futz with components.

I can confirm that setting the depth to 3 on the 8 Step and a TS cable works with the Line 6 M9 and M13 as well.

I’m having a similar issue with my 45000 that I purchased through Amazon in December of 2014. Everything works great except the headphone volume. It appears to have no affect on the headphone or monitor volume. The headphone/monitor is stuck at a decent level (around line, haven’t measured it) and is usable, but annoying. Moving or pressing on the knob generates a bit of static but doesn’t change the level.

It actually had the same problem when I first got it, but started working after a couple of days. I didn’t use the pedal for a month or so, and the problem returned after not using it.

Did your 3rd pedal resolve your issue?
