the only ones that interest me are the clone theory (even though my GAS for that has died – ordered a vintage TC chorus today!), the memory man, the deluxe big muff and maybe the bad stone

    that’s a ripoff

The wood box helped smooth out the Big Muff distortion slightly. The tone was there and it still had that “woody” tone. You could also use the wood box to elevate the pedal off the floor so you have a slightly higher treble due to the height.
    Good Luck!

Eric Johnson actually does this :p

my russian muff that i got a year ago didn’t come in the wooden box, was a bit disappointing actually..

that’s the one, it’s most likely an incorrect picture, you can see in the description that it’s an EU adaptor.

i have that exact one bought from exactly there to power my q-tron :)

the thing you linked isn’t a power transformer, it’s just an adaptor, if you use that, chances are, you’ll fry the pedal since you’ll be running it at 220v.

you need to get a proper transformer (not a flimsy travel transformer since that probably won’t last since the pedal will be running 24/7). mine cost about 20 euro and i got it at my local electronics shop. since you’re using a pedal it is much easier to just buy a new power supply that works in europe. they’ll run you about 15 euro and you’ll be able to find them at a music shop or you can order them at http://www.thomann.de (and you’ll be guaranteed that it’s the one that is designed for the pedal if you get the proper EHX one).

    ohhhh fgsfds

    i’m such a moron

evidently the thing needs to be plugged into the signal chain for it to turn on

nope, i haven’t broken any, everything seems perfectly intact…

i tried powering it with both a battery and with the battery clip converter/9v adaptor combo and neither work

out of all the problems i’d anticipated – this was far down the list

    so i opened the muff

    and just my luck

for some reason now it’s not working

i mean… all i did was take out four screws and two washers. i didn’t think the russian muffs were this delicate :O

    everything looks pristine inside

any ideas whatsoever? this is such a pain since i need a muff for my exam that’s in a week and a bit

thanks a lot for the advice, Ned, i now know exactly what i wanna do with it! when the time is near…

    question:

can you control the speed of the effect with the expression pedal somehow or does it only control the range?

i don’t like it very much. the deluxe electric mistress sounds infinitely more awesome and you can still dial in a chorus tone with it even though it doesn’t say so on the box. good review though.
