i think i posted a thread in the suggestions forum about making a portamento pedal but i don’t think it went that well haha.

the only alternative for those that can’t afford the HOG is going to have to be one of the digitech PDS delays with the ‘echo hold’ function. or one of the old rackmount delays that had that (roland, digitech and A/DA spring to mind…). it’s not the same as totally freezing it but it’s still an awesome effect.

now if only EHX had that as well haha ;)

    2. Freeze an effected note then fade it out with the effect while playing clean (or with another effect) over it.

i’m still thinking of an intricate setup with the ‘echo hold’ thing where it’ll be coming out of my signal chain at an angle and then jumping back in through a mixer, so putting a volume pedal after the echo hold toy and before the mixer would let it fade out, which’d be awesome. i’m thinking of doing something like that with my alesis reverb as well, to do massive reverb swells ‘a la’ my bloody valentine ;D

if they do this there’ll be another fiasco similar to the DMM thing where people will mourn the big boxes…

i would want to be able to swell in the wet signal and get a similar effect to the ‘mode 7’ of the boss ps-3

    haha

i just got my deluxe big muff today to replace my russian muff

i love the ICs a lot more than the transistors, they’re a lot more ‘roary’ and sound a lot bigger imo

the deluxe muff is an awesome pedal!

they’re both United States only – i live in Europe :(

but i can’t really complain about that – someone put up a great condition Deluxe Big Muff Pi on my classifieds and is selling me it for a mere 120 euro, it’s with european voltage too!

wow that thing sounds fantastic – i presume it uses the Reticon BBD chips, right?
i’ve been looking around for one of those delays, been debating between the DOD 680 and the Ross Stereo Delay but this is so much better :D
they’re just such a pain to find… tell me when you want to sell yours ;)

is this one of the newer black ones or a sovtek one?

if it’s the latter – give it to me please :)

i’ve always wanted a bassballs but never had the spare money to pick one up cheap but a sovtek is a cool collectible item
