Ned FlandersModerator
I found the XO LBM too boomy on the bass end, I ended up moding it to standard NYC 3003-A specs.
Ned FlandersModeratorI done the vibrato mod, didn’t like it much so i removed it. Its not a very intense vibrato, not like the lofi loop junky. The univibe mod sounds cool though.

Ned FlandersModeratorThe SC is probably the best chorus out there, well I think it is anyways.
Ned FlandersModeratorQuote:some of those guys are pretty wacky, but Josh from Malekko and Brian from Subdecay are both pretty cool dudes in my opinion.Yeah they are cool guys, I wont name who isnt cool but theres a few and their fans are even worse.
Ned FlandersModeratorQuote:Greetings,We always talk about the great pedals this fine company manufactures, but we haven’t discussed the heart of many great a amps, the tubes or valves, for our English folks.
I have a collection of vintage tube amps. Most of them have been re-tubed by Electro Harmonix EL34’s, EL84’s and some 6L6’s and of course, pre-amp tubes. I have to tell you that these are great tubes. I haven’t had any of these amps re-tubed since 2002. That’s 6 years…. Not all of them have been used religiously, but they have had some serious burn in time. They still sound great.
What are your experiences with Electro Harmonix tubes?
Well I’m personally sick and tired of hearing that EH/Sovtek tubes aren’t good enough for amps. I have sovteks in my twin reverb and they rock, I couldn’t imagine a better sounding amp personally.
Ned FlandersModeratorThe reason is because I speak my mind and don’t suck up to bootweakers. SOME People don’t like my straightforwardness.
Ned FlandersModeratorI use fenders and I have quite a few EH pedals, I’ve always used fender sfor some reason, they just feel right, sound sick and look cool.
I use a Jaguar with humbuckers i installed in it, (super distortion in the bridge/paf in the neck) and a 66 mustang which also has a super distortion humbucker in the bridge, single coil size so I didn’t have to route out a vintage fender.Fender and EHX go really well together, my twin reverb loves pedals and EHX pedals just happen to be the majority of my pedals. A jaguar into a Big Muff into a twin reverb is probably the best guitar sound ever!
Ned FlandersModeratorI know all you HCFX guys are glad I’m here! LOL

December 2, 2008 at 9:43 pm in reply to: Vintage EHX that you can still find for a good price. #88085Ned FlandersModeratorI got a great deal on vintage EH, its was a 1978 opamp big muff with tone bypass, it was a BIN price of US$100 so I hit buy. Best pedal deal I’ve ever gotten.period!
I see mostly that old NYC big muffs go for over $200-$250 so I’m happy about it.
The other day on ebay there was a big muff fuzz wah for US$120 BIN. WTF? no one bought it either. -
