The holy grail is pretty convincing reverb IMO. But, if you want analog tube spring reverb the units are gonna be big.
Ned FlandersModeratorQuote:I’m going acoustic for Christmas this year. Almost got a bunch of EHX gear, but I decided I’d fund that with a few guitar sales.http://breedloveguitars.com/instruments/guitars/atlas/StudioC25SM/index.php
Looks cool! I don’t have a good acoustic, I wanted to get the fender jazzmaster type acoustic sometime when I’m not buying effects.
Quote:Clothers and money I suspect. And some candy.I have a list.
I’m banking on it being ignored.
I won’t get a thing from family because I make them not buy anything for me because I hate having to choose gifts for others, so if i don’t buy gifts I wont accept them either.
Ned FlandersModeratorDS should be fun, you’ll probably use it more than teh kiddies! I bought myself a 360 a few months ago and its pretty cool. I’m single, no kids BTW so I only have the cost of myself to worry about although loneliness is starting to get to me.LOL
Quote:no harm in trying/asking is there??good luck. thumb
God, it would be my dream to have EHX make one of my pedals, It would be like winning lottery to me. :rawk:
Ned FlandersModeratorThe only thing I used to put in the loop of a SS amp I have was a passive attenuator because it was too loud and I couldn’t adjust it quiet enough. The LBM is louder than the NYC so you shouldn’t have any problems if you run it direct into the amp.
Ned FlandersModeratorYeah, I’m definitely looking forward to this xmas, normally i don’t get anything for xmas cause I’m always broke but this December I came into over a grand so I thought it was a good opportunity to buy all the gear related items I needed. I didn’t NEED the 3 muffs but I’m fanatical about muffs so that’s why I got them and EHX just happened to release a new one, and eBay just happened to have two of seven I was after so it just worked out with me getting all this stuff. next xmas will be a paupers xmas, I guarantee it!
I’m still not even close to completing my gear wants though, I still want a HOG, POG, AV Jazzmaster, deluxe muff triangle muff, PNP and an NPN ramshead, version 3 muff,PRS tremonti SE..LOL Hopefully I’ll get the first 3 this newyear cause I’m going to be selling some pedals I designed this new year. (prays that EHX wants to make one of my pedals*) But I will be selling some anyways through my own effects company.
*I am going to formally ask them about it!
Ned FlandersModeratorMy twin reverb, 4 12ax7’s in the preamp, 2 12at7’s for the reverb and inverter. I think the reverb tube is bad cause I’m getting weird noises with it so I decided to just replace all 6 tubes. I wanted to try the EH gold 12ax7’s so this is a good time to do it.
The power tubes are fine, they are sovtek 6l6 groove tubes, Since the preamp tubes are more noticeable in sound with swapping tubes than the power tubes I’ll just keep using the sovtek GT’s, saves biasing every tube swap, plus they are only 1 1/2 years old anyways and I haven’t even gigged once in that time so they are basically new.Ned FlandersModeratorEven better, a LPB1 and a muff fuzz so you can run them together?!?!?!?
Ned FlandersModeratorA side note: For effects powered by batteries a dying battery will make pedals clip. I had this problem once and I went through every modulation pedal to find it, it was my small clone running on 6 volts. It sounds like a light OD or a non true bypass pedal.

Ned FlandersModeratorI pretty much think Fender makes the best tube/spring reverb so they would have a lot to live up to IMO. I’m not sure it would be worth it really as the Fender unit is as good as reverb gets IMO.
Ned FlandersModeratorEH used to sell build your own muff kits in the 70’s, they where cheaper than the assembled unit.
Ned FlandersModeratorSet your MS on with the filter so you can hear it sweeping, then slowly turn the trim that you messed with, adjust it very finely until it sounds right. If it doesn’t sound like its effecting the filter, turn the filter to a minimum and set something else to the maximum and adjust it again, do this till you find what it effects. Either that or send it to Howard Davis for repair.
In future don’t turn trims that aren’t user friendly, I see far to many people ruining their effects because they think they can get it to sound “better”, if this were true, the companies would set it like that for you as they want their effects to sound the best they possibly can.Ned FlandersModeratorIt will work.
Ned FlandersModeratorThe polychorsu is no where near as lush and deep a chorus as the small clone, if you buy one for its chorus you will be disapointed but if you buy one for its chorus/flange/weird ass noises you’ll be pleased. IMO, you MUST own both!
Ned FlandersModeratorHere’s a diagram I done for you.
