I have the schem of the low frequency compressor and I may even have the black finger schem, I’m not sure but I didn’t even think to compare them.
Thanks EH man!December 29, 2008 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Is the Muff Overdrive an exact reissue of the original Muff Fuzz ? #89793Ned FlandersModeratorAs far as I know yes it is.
Ned FlandersModeratorYou can use any 16mmm PCB mount pot to replace it, smallbear electronics sells them.
Do you know if the pot is linear or audio or reverse audio? Because it makes a difference and the rotation of the the knob will be all messed up if if you choose the wrong taper. If you don’t know it just buy one of each and try them all till it sounds right. There should be markings on the old pot, can you tell me what they say?Ned FlandersModeratorDo you own one of the clones you recommended me?
Ned FlandersModeratorThat’s what I thought the thread was about, actual dating like boy girl dating.LOL I thought he was in the honeymoon phase of owning a DMM.LOL
BTW, since EHX stopped using CTS pots in their effects its almost impossible to get an exact date for any specific pedal. You can get a round about date if you know what date the revision of your PCB was done but not an exact date. That’s why I like the old vintage effects because dating them is simple as looking on the pots.
Ned FlandersModeratorQuote:I gotta say I’m not a fan of white on red. I’d switch that over to a black guard IMO. My girlfriend would like you to know she likes it though, haha. (what a catch right? We can look at pedals and gear together) My rhythm guitarist plays a Jaguar, and its also a pain in the ass to setup properly, much like the jazzmasters. Once they finally get setup properly, they play like a dream though.Once you learn how to set up jaguars etc setting them up is as easy as doing a strat, there’s really nothing to it its just different that’s all.
Here’s a few tips to get you started: http://www.fenderjaguar.net/setup.htm
Ned FlandersModeratorIt’ll be fine, if you want really damaging sub frequencies put a small stone in a feedback looper, then you can do real damage!
Ned FlandersModeratorThey will return your email eventually dude, maybe send another one too.
Ned FlandersModeratorI threw out a few boxes but I generally keep them also.
Ned FlandersModeratorI don’t know if the POG uses a buffer or just plain non TB but I’ve found EH non TB pedals to be fine, the stereo memory man with hazarai, the stereo pulsar and the stereo polychorus are all non TB and their bypass is fine, you can hardly tell the difference with them 3 in the chain or just your guitar straight into the amp. Vintage EH pedals like the small stone and big muffs that aren’t TB really suck though.
Ned FlandersModeratorCool, I love japanese fenders, particularly jaguars.
Ned FlandersModeratorI will be doing some video demos soon too (just got a new sony and I’m still figuring out how to edit and format it to upload) so we should start a video demo thread of EHX pedals, have it set up like the mods thread. Everyone can contribute.
Ned FlandersModeratorYou know you can not even bother with the polarity if you make a converter adapter, costs about a dollar to make and converts any neg center to pos center and visa versa.
Ned FlandersModeratorOK thanks dude!
Ned FlandersModeratorIf its wrong polarity it will kill your pedal. Check analogman.com as I know they sell EHX adapters, they might just have what you are looking for.
