True bypass it, the bypass on vintage EHX (or any vintage pedal for that matter) is terrible.
Ned FlandersModeratorWhat ones? the round tyre type ones? They are pretty much unavailable anymore, I think I bought some of the last sets smallbear had and that was a couple of years ago.
Smallbear still sell the chickenhead Sovtek ones though, but they only fit on the newer Sovtek pots, not the Sovtek pots that the round ones fit on, incidentally smallbear sell them too.Ned FlandersModeratorWhat he said.
I’ve had no problems with them either in EHX pedals or pedals I’ve built. Most toggles are pretty robust IME.
September 29, 2009 at 10:22 pm in reply to: My EHX Small Clone suddenly had an intermittent switch issue #101903Ned FlandersModeratorI must be the luckiest guy around as I’ve never has one single problem with an EHX pedal. No wires coming loose, switches popping or cutting out, LED’s not working etc. I’ve experienced non of it.
Ned FlandersModeratorQuote:Quote:I think we should be demanding a bit higher quality control standards eh?The problem is this I’m guessing….EHX check and test every pedal before it leaves the factory …. on the vintage style pedals the wires are soldered directly to the footswitch (unlike on an XO where it has a little circuit board).
True, but on the latest Big Muff version it uses a daughter board for the 3PDT and is connected to the main PCB with ribbon cable, much like the XO’s. The new one will be more reliable IMO.
Ned FlandersModeratorExactly what he said.

LOL
(joke)
Ned FlandersModeratorIt happens on a lot of true bypass pedals. Yours is perfectly OK.
Ned FlandersModeratorBuy a 4.7Meg 1/4 watt resistor from radio shack or its equivalent and solder it from input jack tip to input jack ground.
Should solve the problem.Ned FlandersModeratorIts totally 100% compatible with a boss 9volt DC adapter.
Ned FlandersModeratorIts stock and its the tone bypass. You’ll also notice it has a cut trace. if you were to repair this cut trace and remove them resistors and capacitor it would no longer have tone bypass.
Ned FlandersModeratorThought so.

Ned FlandersModeratorYou do know that most russians have reversed input output jacks yeah? Where the right jack is the output and the left the input.
September 18, 2009 at 11:09 pm in reply to: electro harmonic AC adapters, do they work on 240v? #101605Ned FlandersModeratorYou can use the UK/EU/AU ones in all these areas with just a plug adapter but if you have a 110V US one and are going to a 220/240v country you will need a new adapter.
All the adapters that come with my EHX pedals are for the UK but since we operate on similar power they work here in AU fine.
