ATTENTION BIG MUFF MODDERS!
I noticed a mistake (due to lapse in concentration likely) in one of my diagrams. The directions were correct but two wires were backwards, it is now fixed.
I advise anyone who has used the following diagram (now corrected) to check the work you done and fix it if need be. Sorry about that!Just to be safe I have also gone over all the other ones I posted and they are fine.
Ned FlandersModeratorIN this pic:(the first one)
https://www.ehx.com/?ACT=25&fid=5&aid=327_5RXGWn6uhcPHgOsbcHJn&board_id=1The bottom red/pink wire on the switch is your output jack, the top two are input jack/effect IN on one side, and effect OUT on the other side. Follow the wires to find out which is which. If you have a multi meter you can tell other wise you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right first pop.
Once you have found out the PCB IN and PCB OUT (which I just told you how to do it) you can install a new switch.
Easy!Ned FlandersModeratorI have a vintage SmallStone that I absolutely love!!!!!!, If I was to buy another phaser it would be the Hoax for sure!
Ned FlandersModeratorYes they have less gain.
You could also try the Tube EQ. Or turn the gain knob down+lowr gain tubes.Ned FlandersModeratorNo problem!
Ned FlandersModeratorYou wont find any schematics for current production EHX stuff on the www.
A couple years ago a bunch of current production schematics was found on the web, since then you wont find it unless your a authorized EHX repairer or you trace it yourself of course. I trace them, but I don’t share them. I keep them purely for collection and repair purposes. I share old schems, of pedals no longer made only. Ron wont share them either, he’s not allowed to.Ned FlandersModeratorNed FlandersModeratorQuote:What about the battery door? I’ve got a 6 screw large black russian (the type with the green guts, knobs and switch) and I would need a door for this. Even if not available, could somebody post a picture of what the door looked like? You can buy doors for this one currently: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=953
Ned FlandersModeratorGive me some time and I’ll make a little diagram of what to do on the Rev C PCB. Its exactly the same mod, parts etc, just different connection points as far as designators go.
Ned FlandersModeratorForget about the designators like C9 etc on the revision A board, they don’t apply to the revision C board as the rev C PCB had different designators.
Tell me what mod you want to do and I can help you out with your revision C board.
BTW, the 10nF cap is the one that has 103 printed on it. Cap type will make no difference.
Ned FlandersModeratorTrue, I know good prices are still to be found but its just this kinda stuff really pushed my buttons!
Ned FlandersModeratorI hope the Germanium muff is in the classic chasis but I almost know for sure it wont be….
Ned FlandersModeratorYeah maybe so, and the TBM too with luck may reduce in price. *wishful thinking*
Ned FlandersModeratorExactly, when they were in stores not many people liked them and called them “soviet junk” and such. Now they are on ebay AND selling for up to US$200. You can still get them for 50-60 bucks if you look hard enough and long enough but I dont know how long that will last.
Ned FlandersModeratorI’ll pay big money for certain muffs but not on ones people told me they hate less than 6montyhs ago, now are selling to just cash in on the Corgan thing, I wont be that sucker!
BTW,is your moniker “fire sergeant 911”? Whats the significance of that to you?
