Reviving this old thread, because, TOTALLY! An on/off for toggling manual and auto sweep is arguably the one thing left out of this pedal that would make it killer (or at least the regarding the exp. option). I’ve owned mine for maybe four years now and this theoretical exp. mod was the first thing I thought of when I first got it.

So, CHECK THIS OUT.. I recently opened mine up and removed the guts from the chassis (because I had to replace a pot). On the PCB, near the traces for the Start/Stop pots and the EXP jack, there is clearly marked a spot for a DPDT switch. It’s an empty spot, no switch installed. It is labeled ” SW 4 SPDT ” (it says SPDT, though there are six holes as a DPDT switch would have).

I wonder if they originally did intend to have a toggle option but instead designed the circuit to somehow recognize when something is in the EXP jack, and if/when so, override the Start/Stop settings and follow the input. Maybe it was a matter of price point (though I don’t know how one extra stomp switch and an LED or two would really break the bank)? Maybe they were already at the max point and had to cut something out somewhere.

Anyway.. I have not tried wiring a switch into the spot to see what it does, if anything. Mostly, I have not done it because I fear irreversible damage to the pedal. I emailed EHX support; they told me they cannot comment on anything mod-related or on schematics, not could they provide me schematics (I thought maybe there’d be like a note in it explains the SW 4 location).

I also sent some photos of the PCB top and bottom to companies who do aftermarket mods and no one got back to me.

Anyone brave enough to find out?… :)
