thanks for the info and suggestions Electro-melx. i think i will make a 30w 2×8 combo, but does anyone have a good schematic/wiring diagram for a tube one? and does anyone have the info to turn my last one into a small EH combo clone? like a freedom or a mike dirt road?

not sure on the od/distortion debate as i never owned one, even tho it is on my wish list.

and i may be wrong but i think the quality debate was an issue with the input, output, and AC jacks. a lot of the Russian made products (like my EH mini mixer) is the jacks were soldered directly to the PC board without any nut on the enclosure to support it. so repetitive hook up and removing of cables would eventually loosen the solder connections on the PC board, and result in crackling noise, or complete removal of passing a signal, i think they may have changed that with newer models.

another prob (again i may be wrong) may have been with the foot switch itself. they had been cheap in the past like Radio Shack momentary push buttons, made for fingers and eventually would break do to repeditive use.

but if yours is a newer model, has nuts saporting all jacks like most pedals, and a good foot switch (looks like US pedal ones but may be black in this case as to silver), i don’t think you will have any problems, otherwise in my opinion the Russian made products were built like a tank!

the person above me had a point the compressor needs to generaly be before the od/distortion.
first in my chain are the filter effects, like wah and envelope (Doctor Q), then it goes into my compressor (tube Black finger) (filter effects need to be compressed since they alter levels) and then into distortion (full size Metal Muff w/ top boost) then after that anything els like modulators and delays.

first off, THANK YOU JULIAN !! i have had over a 100 different guitars over the last 20 years, one of witch was the same Hondo LP lawsuit you showed us. i unfortunately sold it about 10 years ago to purchase a different guitar. but i loved that copy and i all ways get into argument’s over the fact that it was of any decent quality. and i usually agree that most Hondo’s are not very good but mine was very much indeed! mine had a dark trans wine red finish with full cream binding and chrome hardware, other than that it was the same as yours.

anyway getting to what i currently have….

CM Marvel (?) ……neck threw, oil finish, EMG active pickups (very very nice guitar and i got it cheap! i posted a topic previosly asking if anyone can identify it for me with pics. search for “can you name this guitar”

my favorite style of guitars has all-ways been old ICEMAN guitars. so my second guitar is a…….

personal made ICEMAN custom copy….dark trans red finish on quilted maple top. white binding, trans black finish on back and sides over ash. dark black pearl custom shaped pickguard, chrome hardware including roller LP (tunomatic) style bridge with tailpiece, and humbucker rings, and chrome dome knobs with pearl tops. Seymore Duncan Blackout’s active humbuckers. active electronics with built in overdrive in a 3rd push pull pot to activate. no current pics yet but i will post when i do and get the time. its basicly what ive all ways wanted my favorite style guitar to look like and option’s I’ve all ways wanted in an ICEMAN. and its built to wail! ive never played a guitar with so much power! :metal:

the 3rd guitar i have is another one I’m building that’s still in production but near completion ..

a copy of a tele in the 70’s deluxe or custom style. all trans black finish with chrome hardware, rosewood fretboard, large pickguard like they usually have but in dark black pearl and it only supports one humbucker, the other is in the bridge plate (string thrue) like normal but it is a humbucker as well, Wilkinson tuners, roller tree’s, LSR Fender roller nut, chrome dome knobs with black pearl tops. 4 control pots, 2 volume 2 tone, volume ones are push pull for coil splitting, i wanted to make a guitar that usually wasn’t me, but i made it for metal, but with the coil tapping i can still get the tele sound. humbuckers i got from a custom shop off of Ebay. they sound great, there standard size not large like an original tele deluxe, and the covers are very original looking. the maker calls them “Toastybuckers” (try a search) there chrome covers like a LP but the instead of individual holes for just one side, it has one long slot for both sides and has a fine screen over the poles, so they all most look like mini antique toasters, hence the name.

when this is done i will also post pics.

o and all my guitars get Schaller strap locks, ill never play without them, there a good insurence investment! :thumb:

thats funny gestaltito, i did the same thing here in the U.S. for my very first pedal board, it was basicly a plant crate and an aluminum case made for electricians tools. looked exactly the same…lol small world….but now i have a cuple very large custom made ones.

hay i dont blame him for finding it in the trash, i find worth while items in the trash. 2 months i found a whole working original Leslie 145 unit!! i dont have personal intrest in the unit, but i had made over $3000 parting it out on Ebay!

$1000 of that money went for making another custom guitar i had all ready started. and the $2000 of it went for all EH gear. :D

i need to agree with sum of the other posts. i own the Hazarai model memory man and it is the best deley ive ever owned, and i use the looping option a lot to practise solos over a pre looped rythm. plus remember u can still use any of the deley options when your looping!

yeah i think the 2UBE EQ is sweet, i actualy use it mostly for a modern replacement for a EH wah pedal (since there is no current production of one, there are many vintage models) by using the expression pedal with it!
