Mr.GrimMember
i know i have seen actual pics sum ware, where Jimi uses an LPB-1 or maybe other EH product in the small plug direct into amp units. it is seen behind him plugged directly into his amp, with his guitar cable hangin out the other end.
maybe this was the mistaken unit he was using.
Mr.GrimMemberyeah i seen 3 posts last night that were strait up ads for movies coming out in the next couple weeks, and by time i went to click on them again, they had all ready been reported and removed.
i was so relieved, all tho i have a strong passion for film as well, i hated to death seeing people sneak ads into this music based forum for them..i was pissed!!
Mr.GrimMemberi don’t think its the guitar…..
when i was about 12 and got my first guitar and amp, it was a Harmony combo kit from Sears.
the guitar was actually a really good strat copy!? but the amp has 5 watt, 8″ speaker, and plastic box. (this would have been about 1992)
when i was little i was playing with the sound that it made when i touched the end of the guitar cable to my skin when it was plugged into the amp.
to be funny when a friend was over i actually stuck the cable in my nose! and to our surprise i got a radio signal but it was talk radio in Chinese!
any time i did it, it was always Chinese talk radio and i live in the US, i always thought that was funny.
November 20, 2009 at 7:11 am in reply to: Interesting ebay auctions and listings on other sites. #103957Mr.GrimMemberDAMN IT!!!! i been searching for a dirt road for a while on ebay, and that ones seems cheap still for about 2 days left, my only problem is it looks like it ships within the UK only, and i am in the US. 😥
Mr.GrimMemberi voted fixed even tho the one i currently use the most has a Floyd Rose. thats because the other guitars i built are ether still being built or under sum type of refinish or modding.
i usually prefer the stop bar tail piece with tunamatic style bridge, like on a LP, all my other guitars have that combo, except the bridges have been replaced with Wilkinson roller bridge, it looks mostly the same except it has roller wheels instead of notched blades for saddles.
i do a lot of setups repairs and intonations, that even a Floyd Rose setup is no prob for me, i actually enjoy it and get off on showing people how fast and simple it is (lol…showoff)
the one i currently use i get no probs from my set ups. never goes out of tune or anything.
Mr.GrimMemberdarkaxel….those were only personal dreams/ideas…nothing official.
Mr.GrimMemberi have seen this thing and loved playing with it…..EHX you need to get on board with this!
it is such a useful tool, for people like me who have so many pedals and such a large board, and have probs setting up a new arrangement for a gig or album or whatever.
i liked using it, but except for 2 of my pedals all 30+ others are all EHX brand!
this program (and us users or them and you) needs your support!!!!!!!!
Mr.GrimMemberok how about this?!………remake it so its like a SMMH or POG2 or other newer pedals that have a preset button, so you can mix a good dirty sound with the EQ, and then a good clean sound with a different EQ setting, save them with different preset locations, that you can switch between the 2 sounds, still using the pedal EQ but in different settings!
Mr.GrimMemberwell good thing i don’t see the Small Clone on there, because the Nano Clone just isn’t the same.
but as far as the other small box units like the Small Stone , Dr.Q, ect…. they seem to be the exact same unit to me, so no worries there.
Mr.GrimMemberi own 2 of the “The Silencer” unit. and i wanted it because i need everything EHX, but if you really need to use this unit for its intended purpose i wouldn’t recommend it. i don’t know if it is supposed to work the way that all 3 units i have had work, but its not very good, it does the job, but when it cuts off the noise when needed as you set it, it fades the signal in and out with a crackly noise instead of just cutting off the signal and/or quietly fading it in/out.
plus this is an older unit, and i believe the power outlet is center positive, reverse of the newer units, even ones in the same enclosure, so be aware of that or it wont work, or burn out.
Mr.GrimMemberi second that notion!!!!!
Mr.GrimMemberyeah i was going to suggest stewart macdonald guitar shop supply, i buy from them all the time, and although i don’t own that tool, Ive seen in in every catalog, and contemplate buying one every time, but i always find other things that the cash need to go for more, and i end up using other tools like the ones above for the nut instead. evan if it is risky, you need to be careful, one little slip and you could put a huge gouge in your guitar finish or pedal!
plus the tool above, looks like you could tighten it like a pin vise, and make it fit a slightly different size, i would think it should work (from stew-mac)
o and i too have just compared the nuts i have purchased for the guitars i build, and thew nut on the switchcraft switches that this tool is made for does match the ones on the vintage EH pedals i have.
yes all hear in this post, looking for the correct tool (that includes you EH-MAN, i hope we could help you for once Ron) buy the above pictured tool from http://www.stewmac.com , they have never let me down in the past, and have awesome customer service, you got a tech question? e-mail it to them and they will respond with results, so if your still unsure, just ask them first. and request them to send you a catalog, there a lot more fun to look threw than having to navigate there website.
Mr.GrimMemberi feel you on that one,….i need to keep mine as nice and new and original as possible.
and i do remove the rubber feet to attach them to boards.
most you can just pull off with your fingers, they use a strong double sided tape dot, that’s very much like glue.
if you cant pull them off by hand, the knife thing that others have mentioned does work, but i think gripping it a little with sum type of pliers and pulling away from the pedal is better, there’s no fear of scratching the unit.
and like they sed, you can get exact matching replacements almost anywhere, i get them in bulk off ebay, i have a shoe box full….literally! we need to keep them lookin new! even if there just off the board for a week….lol.
November 6, 2009 at 11:05 pm in reply to: Please stop the power adapter follies! I guarantee we’ll EHX buy nonstop #103489Mr.GrimMemberi agree with you fender&ehxforever;. im just sayin, for all the ones i have that are 9V, i try to condense the power system just for those.
November 6, 2009 at 10:12 pm in reply to: Please stop the power adapter follies! I guarantee we’ll EHX buy nonstop #103485Mr.GrimMemberi have seen those and they work great, but still….its just so much more you need to carry with you and try to stuff in your pedalboard case.
i use something like that for my Tube Black Finger, Poly Chorus, and Holier Grail.
but i think its personal preference and i still use daisy chains for my 9V pedals, it saves so much room.
and like i sed, i have 2 of them, one dedicated to analog ones, and the other on my digi ones, so i get no noise problem whatsoever. -
