Mr.GrimMember
i believe my unit works correctly, just that im looking for it to do more than it should, it definitely compresses properly and adds nice tone, just not much sustain if any at all.
my tubes do glow, yours seem to be defective.
Mr.GrimMemberi think i sed this recently in another topic…but my most favorite style is the older iceman guitars from the age of this topic….my last one was stolen, but hay it inspired me to build my own completely custom one, its just the best (for me at least)
dammit i realy need to get sum pics and a photo bucket account, to share them with you all, im sure a couple are starting to think im full of shit……lol
i make all my own guitars
Mr.GrimMemberwell i payed $150.00 for a “strat copy” at guitar center 10 years ago, and when i took it apart i found out it was a fender custom shop!
sum one just scratched the name off the headstock for sum reason.
it was black with rosewood fretboard, red tortoise pickguard, and a humbucker in the bridge.
Mr.GrimMemberok never mind…..what i was really looking for was a way to wire a DPDT switch as a SPST, and i found it online, its done and working for now.
but….this is only a temporary fix so i can use it for now until i get an original replacement switch for it, im all ready eying a couple on Ebay!
Mr.GrimMemberomg…i decided to do the mod and use the 6 lug switch i got and fallow the diagrams given to me here but, i dont understand how to do it still, all diagrams tell me to wire effect in and out here or there but bouth of those are going to the color switch what now!!!
can anyone help me!!! be a little more specific to this pedal?
Mr.GrimMemberi agree it looks like sum type of druid like person to me, i dont know where rams head came from? its just a face with crazy organic like hair.
Mr.GrimMembercheck this out! it was made for your amp!
i would love to own a Sovtek amp myself, but i keep spending all my money on EH pedals dammit!…..lol
Mr.GrimMember!!!fenriz033 YAY!!! i too am excited that sumone els shares my liking for the Iceman, i realy must make that photo bucket account now to share pics of the one i built. anywhone who has seen and or played it are infatuated with it, but none of them were Iceman lovers to begin with, it will be nice to hear your feedback!
Mr.GrimMemberim a fan of many styles, but i think my most favorite one is the ICEMAN style guitar, but the classic ones not the newer smaller ones. the last one i had was stolen, so now im playing a personally built custom copy, it looks and sounds so great, that and also a mid 70’s custom deluxe telecaster copy i also made..
..man i really need to start a photo bucket account to share my guitars with you all!
Mr.GrimMemberi would have mentioned the White Finger as an option, but it just seems to me to be exactly the same as my Black finger , except its not tube (valve) based.
and the preacher would be cheaper, and fit better in my “2” pedalboards, there very crowded as is.
Mr.GrimMemberi got a NANO Clone (yes i have classic Small clone, cuz i know there not the same, but i want all EHX) and a Russian Bass Balls! (obviously i picked them out, my wife dont know any better…lol)
4 resident evil games (favorite series, i collect them all)
12 horror dvd’s, i collect horror movies, i have over 2k store bought dvd’s
slippers
25 Visa gift card
towals
and more to come tomorrow when family get here!
Mr.GrimMemberyes ROHS is what i was looking for, and forgive me for what little info i remembered and what i pieced together and thought.
you are very correct, this is a very very sad problem in the world, it also makes you think twice as to weather “recycled” is all that good if the materials are coming from these people in these ways!
Mr.GrimMemberi thought i read sum where that another reason they are stopping production on the Russian BM was there new laws that stop them from using components or parts that have chemicals that are now banned do to health concerns? like our (USA) OSHA or sum thing?
which seems dumb to me… whose letting a young child ( or what one can for that matter) disassemble a pedal and chew on the parts anyway?……… for that matter they might as well band all electronics, if kids or the mentally challenged are taking things apart and eating the insides of them…..lol
Mr.GrimMemberthanks for the pic Liberty Belle, i will use that diagram or i am seriously considering buying a direct Carling replacement for it. (to keep it original as possible) plus if i ever sell it (which i wont unless i get another V1 SS in better condition) i want it original, and i will still keep the old switch and offer it with the item.
now do you have an opinion to the fuzz issue on the low end of the sweep? when the color switch is in the up position?
Mr.GrimMemberi own the new NANO series of all three pedals (Mole, Bird, & LPB-1)
and i agree that there is a volume drop with the Screaming bird.
and i notice that there is a very muffled muted volume drop on the Mole if used after OD, Fuzz, or distortion (a very muddy effect) (on guitar at least) its best when placed before the other.
so the Mole issue is fixed when placed properly in my siganl chain, but the Screaming Bird issue i solve the same way with all volume dropping pedals ( EHX is number 1 in my book, but no one is perfect, many of there pedals have a volume drop, or boost for that matter)….
i use an LPB-1 simultaneously with the volume dropping effect, and use a switching pedal like the Switchblade to activate the two togeather if wanted to make up the difference in sound.
