supertonesteve…to mute the signal you could always use a A/B box like the Switchblade (rather cheap) and just dont connect the second jack so when you engage the pedal it mutes the sound instead of re-directing it.

    wow….lol …how ironic!

i am in the middle of making a new pedal of my own, that consists of 5 different simple pedal like projects in one box. (kinda like a Swiss army knife of effects boxes, wont say what ones yet till its done) i was racking my brain as to what to call it and today at work i figured it out, im going to call it THE SHORT BUS! (no offense) i named it that because it is a small box (actualy a large Hammond die cast box 2 inches longer than the SMMH box) full of “simpletons” …lol i even have sketched out how it will look when it is done…i got those large black knurled knobs with silver insert and different color LED’s that i will place in the right spots to look like the lights and wheels on a bus! and maybe change a couple terms for the effect controls to match bus controls to suit the theme.

YOU BASTARD!!! that is my dream amp as well, …but ill never afford it. 😥 id evan settle for a tolex one.

any way i guess im happy with my Studiomaster Valve Leadmaster.

its basicly a rare clone of a Mesa Boogie Mark 2 c+ from 1981, made in England.

i also have a Mesa Boogie dual rectifier half stack and a Peavey 5150 half stack from when i used to play out, they dont see any light these days, just my Studiomaster.

ive ran into this problem a couple times before with my CryBaby and my V1 Small Stone, turnes out its all ways the footswitch itself crapping out. parts inside the switch itself snap or break.

i keep spares around for any future problems, but IMO a faulty switch isn’t sum thing to sweat over, it could be a lot worse.

hmmm, i guess i got lucky or sum thing, because i have allways had the same great results from my tube Black Finger as well, clean, quiet, good compression. and i do keep it on all ways.

i say i must be one of the lucky ones, because i have heard many others having noisy problems with there units, or tubes dont glow, ect….. perhaps its sum thing to do with the tubes? and after i had mentioned that before to others they state that there unit is brand spankin new, but there’s always the chance that, tubes are fragile….so maybe the unit was miss handled during shipping or warehouse storage?….who really knows?

o yeah mine is fine, i do have 2, one good one one almost dead one. it needs a cap and a new 2nd op amp.

and yeah thats the only vid ive ever seen of it myself, and i had posted topics on my Y Triggered filter on here a couple times, and it hardly gets any posts on it, thats why i assumed its not very well known or owned.

i have this pedal, and ive asked questions about it here, it seems not to many people have info on it here, i guess it is a rarity.

but i can say that it is a very subtle envelope filter effect, i would say the the weakest sounding of all EH envelope filters, if its cheap or simple your looking for try the Dr.Q (probably best, subtle and just enuf effect) or Bass Balls (a bit different than the others,”wacky” as you sed)(even cooler if your willing to mod it and place the internal trim pots on the outside of the unit for extra control)

if not cheap and you got a couple extra bucks any version of the Q-Tron is good (and its based on and created by the original mu-tron creator, i see you were interested in), and i would say the Riddle:Qballs is the king.

i know what people are asking for here. a year ago i was looking all over online for a mini tube amp project to work on, and i did see a couple people who actualy built mini tube amps with one or two tubes sticking out of the top of a pedal box like the Black Finger or Tube Zipper only it was in an actual XO box! (i think its XO, anyway its the ones the Pog2, SMMWH, ect come in) no lie! they bought it from New Sensor! i was realy interested in them, and if they were built by EHX, i would jump on a dime for that!!! i just wish i could find them now to show everyone the link (im going searching now dammit!)

well personally i wouldn’t recommend a Digitek, Ive had many of them in the past and there digital reverb sound to me at least sounds unnatural. so that leaves EHX, witch i would highly recommend, but still you have many choices, there reverbs very from natural and unnatural sounds in one box, if you still wanted sum odd stuff, the Cathedral does sound very nice but i haven’t played one myself, just seen Youtube vids of it. i myself own a Holier Grail, and am very happy with it. it has many natural reverb sounds and sum others, like “Flerb” a very cool effect. (reverb with a subtle flange to it)
