Mr.GrimMember
dont know much about this, but mine is always lit up, even in LED mode.
Mr.GrimMemberi also had an unanswered question on this pedal in another post….
i own a BBE Sonic Stomp, can the Knockout replace it? or is it a completely different thing?
i absalutley love the Sonic Stomp, its allways on and part of my tailored sound, i just wish it was made by EHX.
Mr.GrimMemberif its new as you sed you should be able to get it fixed or replaced for free thrue EHX.
it sounds to me like a bad switch, it may be broken, it happens once in a while, i keep spare ones around, because i usually buy older used pedals.
Mr.GrimMemberthe shaver near the pickups has been done many times before, just differently, there was a band in the 70’s or80’s that used a hand drill to do the same thing, i think they actualy used a chainsaw once too!
its just the rotating electro magnetic motor that the pickups are picking up. ive done it before with devises and accidentally as well, being to close to other equipment.
sum one online, i think Beavis Audio even shows you how to do it with a tiny modified cell phone or pager vibrating motor
Mr.GrimMemberi must agree, that he plays in a back up band for music i personally do not care for, and he seems a bit odd, but i respect his skills, and appreciate his EHX demos!
i would prefer to watch his video demos over Dan Miller’s and watch him trying to catch flies with his mouth open as he plays….LOL
Mr.GrimMemberi assume its because your mixing digital pedals with analog ones, newer digital pedals dont like that and make issues as you mentioned. although i have used my SMMWH with a chain and had no issues.
Mr.GrimMemberthanks Julian, i did suspect those 2 wires, but unfortunately i cant tell what one is what!?!?
Mr.GrimMemberThanks liberty bell, but i have seen that pic of yours and unfortunetly im not smart enuf for it to help me. the wiring dont match the one in the diagram for me to translate it, and i can tell what wires are positive and ground, but i dont know what ones are effect in/out/ ect, off the board.
Mr.GrimMemberno the Hum-Debugger will not fix your problem.
the Hum-Debugger only eliminates 60 cycle hum experienced from pickups do to poor shielding and surrounding influences like neon lighting ect…
you need an actual noise suppressor, that unfortunatly EHX does not currently make, unless you seek out the vintage The Silencer from them, but you would probobly be better off getting a modern one from another maker. like the ISP Decimator, is real nice, or the one from Rocktron.
Mr.GrimMemberspeaking of relating the word Muff to anatomy, i have my own fuzz unit i made, would it be to close for copyright laws if i named mine….The Shaved Muff? as thats how i like em…..lol (but serious question)

the only way i know of currently is to hot glue them frum under the enclosure then use a clear 3m bumpon (same as the black feet on most EHX pedal’s but clear) as a cover on the outside.
Mr.GrimMemberyes i only use tube amps, the one i have used it on is a rare one from early 80’s London that not many people know of, but simply its a 60W 1×12 combo, like a Mesa Boogie Mark 2 C+ clone with graffic EQ.
Mr.GrimMemberits most likely a bit of both the pickups and the effect.
my first recommendation would be to place the effect unit in the guitar farther away, but unfortunately in your situation that don’t seem like an option as you already have it installed.
so second would be…..shield the hell out of it!! buy copper shielding tape, the thicker the better. and put 2 layers in all cavities (each pickup, control’s, and effect. and also remember to do the same on the cavity covers as well.
Mr.GrimMemberput simply, the ticking is the pickups interpretation of the phaser rate, so when you turn the rate knob of course it will adjust the ticking from slower to faster, same as it does for the phase rate you want it to do……if that makes any cents.
